TY MASTERPOOL - GRIT 256 250SX

With expectations of capturing a top-ten finish being rather obvious, Ty Masterpool knew what task(s) needed to be conquered as his engine revved for practice on Saturday morning. His speed out of the gate, and through the earliest of circuits would be have to be imminent - as the track was going to break down, almost immediately. Luckily, he positioned himself within the top-five and made his way to the starting grid for the first moto with unwavering determination. His clutch release was precise as the pins unlatched in front of him, and as he wove through the chaos of the first three laps, he appeared rather solidified in a standing of tenth while hoping to reach an even higher standing by moto's end. All in the field were chasing that of Haiden Deegan who was leading the pack around...and though he couldn't necessarily catch the Star Racing Yamaha rider who resided in the pinnacle position, he made sure to gauge the number thirty-eight from across the track while using the opponent as a means to go faster. Various outside walls were already beginning to break away while be pushing wider, with a pile of "fluff" per se appearing rather deceptive to many...which caused the front-end(s) of countless opponents to knife, and subsequently crash when the depth suddenly disappeared. He, however, remained vigilant...well past the twenty-minute mark with the checkered flag in mind. The loam that had amassed for the corner after the finish-line was used as means of ricocheting back to the inside, while defending the sixth-place position from Jordon Smith in the final moments...but in the end, Masterpool's prowess was enough to keep Smith at bay, after the Texan had made notable passes on athletes like Jalek Swoll as well - earning a final position of sixth, for Ty, as the checkered flag was thrown. The action was intense to begin the second moto, with everyone in the field lunging for a higher-placement as a means of a tie-breaker, if they were to gather the same amount of points as a specific opponent. His determination when sprinting past the mechanic's area could be seen with a constant twist of the throttle, even with subtle (but significantly dangerous) swaps of the rear-end coming into play. He wasn't going to deviate from this trajectory, and was willing to push the envelope as far as necessary in order to remain within the top ten. Every ant-hill on the circuit had now been overtaken with substantial chop and kickers, but he was managing to find the steepest of lips as a means to hop and pogo his way into the air - conserving his energy as long as possible for the two-lap board was thrown. The concluding fight for eighth would be applaud worthy between he, Honda's Chance Hymas, and newly signed Star Racing Yamaha rider, Max Anstie. Though Hymas was able to work his way by on the twelfth circuit, it was Masterpool who rallied late, to defend his standing from the sand-specialist Anstie. Ultimately, Ty's skillset correlated to a final position of eighth, which was hard-fought for the moto...and resulted in eighth overall as well.
