TY MASTERPOOL GRIT-226 450MX

TY MASTERPOOL | GRIT-226 | 450MX

Looking to excel amongst the sand(s) of the Northeast, Kawasaki's Ty Masterpool would again prove as to why he's considered on the brightest prospects in the sport. The number eighty-one was on fire throughout practice, and continued on that route for the first moto of the afternoon; where he claimed an astounding third position on the leaderboard, for the initial minutes of action. He was quickly hounded by the KTM of Aaron Plessinger, and the Yamaha of Dylan Ferrandis as well...where he evaded a charge from the Ohio native, but would subsequently have to deal with the former 450cc champion (Ferrandis) as laps progressed. There were multiple moments of "close-call(ed)" circumstances when he and Dylan would nearly come together; with Masterpool refusing to give an inch of racetrack to the French rider, as they stormed into the tightest of windows in various corners! The valiant stand of Masterpool for the third-place position would eventually come to an end, just before nine minutes had passed in the fast-sweeping left-handed bend immediately before the finish-line; putting Masterpool to fourth, and shuffled to a location near Aaron Plessinger. "AP" was seeking to do much the same to the number eighty-one, and after defending his position from the KTM rider for a significant amount of time, Aaron was able to capitalize and work his way around. Jason Anderson, would eventually pass Masterpool as well, pushing him into sixth as time neared expiration...however Ty refused to quit; and after a strenuous battle at the height of fourth gear down the start straightaway, it seemed as if Jason Anderson would eventually edge the privateer when funneling into the last few minutes of competition. But as they neared the "Buckley Berm" with one-minute remaining on the clock, the attrition of Masterpool couldn't be nullified; where he out-charged the Factory Kawasaki rider, to regain the fifth-place residency with authority! He would ultimately reside here when crossing the finish-line shortly thereafter, proving that his skillset was paralleled to those at the top of the division. His seventh-place start to the second moto would be held with extreme expertise, as he sped through the endless braking bumps on the circuit with fearlessness; showcasing the durability of his chassis, while keeping the likes of Jason Anderson and Chris Canning at bay. Masterpool would remain in the seventh-place position until around lap twelve, when subtle mistakes amongst a deteriorating track would be treacherous for every athlete on the circuit. Those miscalculations would have him descending to an eventual tenth in the running order, but even with the second-moto score (which was still remarkable) the Kawasaki rider would still excel to a prominent ninth overall in the record book(s).
