TY MASTERPOOL - 224 450MX
June 19, 2023 · Ty Masterpool

TY MASTERPOOL | GRIT-224 | 450MX
Continuing to build from an astounding performance last week at Thunder Valley, Texas' Ty Masterpool would reiterate his talents in the 450cc classification as the gate(s) collapsed at High Point Raceway on Saturday. Masterpool was exceptional throughout practice and transferred into the moto's thereafter with ease - as he sprinted from the starting area near a top-five standing, and would pass the waving of the green flag in fifth. He would be battling with Adam Cianciarulo and Cooper Webb, pushing his Kawasaki machine ahead of the number two and leading him through lap seven. All the while, he too would make a pass on the native Floridian (i.e. Cianciarulo) as he and the rest of the field would storm toward the halfway point. The track was almost unrecognizable, with the amount of ruts and grooves that were entrenched around the raceway in every facet; forcing Masterpool to rekindle his prowess that was showcased at Thunder Valley, where the conditions were eerily similar. Keeping Adam at bay until lap fourteen, the two would quarrel over the fourth-place position ahead of Yamaha's Dylan Ferrandis...and though Ty was eventually passed, it would be the number eighty-one who earned a phenomenal fifth-place ride prior to advancing to the second round of racing. For moto number two, his ability to navigate through the sweeping first turn (and avoid chaos) would be crucial, especially while accruing a seventh-place position to begin the moto. He would lose two positions to Grant Harlan and Derek Drake after a slight mistake in the following minutes of action, but quickly rebounded and returned to seventh by the time lap four was completed. He then sought to move past KTM rider, Aaron Plessinger; and knew that he could compete with the factory contender as his confidence continued to ascend. This would lead to a trajectory that was synonymous with both Webb and "AP" as the race neared conclusion, where Ty was sensational amongst the abundance of grooves amongst straightaways, corners, and rollers alike! There was nothing that Ty couldn't conquer, and as he sped toward the checkered flag within a seven-place residency...his eventual aspirations of claiming the seventh-place accolade would be conquered. He too would clench seventh overall, which was yet another sensational feat to be obtained by the Kawasaki rider - and a pattern he plans to continue, in the rounds ahead!
