GRIT-242 | 250 SX
The Supercross prowess of KTM's Tom Vialle has been flourishing as of late. The French rider has adapted and excelled upon a multitude of layouts in the United States, and appeared enthusiastic about what was to come as events began on Saturday. As his engined idled for practice, he was eager to embark on the circuit of the infield...navigating through the soils in the minutes to follow, and disregarding whether conditions were dry or moist. His entry speed into various bends would be phenomenal, keeping the rear wheel rolling forward while eliminating excess braking - which translated into heat two as well, where he and Daxton Bennick were of similar speed(s) in the initial stages. Though the track was already in a demanding state, Vialle powered through the excess of moisture and sand that had begin to fill the beach area amongst the middle portion(s) of the course. And in both switchback section(s) that followed (both immediately thereafter, and near the tunnel jump), Vialle's navigation on the inside was paramount in defending the third-place position from Coty Schock, who was behind him. The pressure that was put forth by the aforementioned opponent was noticeable, but Vialle wasn't going to fold under this particular circumstance. And it would actually act as a means to move him forward...making the pass (for second) with a mistake from Daxton Bennick, on the fourth circuit. The rutted canvas appeared to heighten the senses of the French rider - enabling him to zero-in on the correct amount of velocity to put forth in the clay-based rhythm lane adjacent to the starting line. This led to the final lap of competition, where Vialle dashed to the finish-line with a sense of urgency...combatting the elements, to receive a runner-up position in the record book(s) behind Honda's Max Anstie. The course was now gnarlier than ever...and would only grow more grotesque, as the main event progressed. Though the number sixteen did his best to lunge forward from the opening gates, to claim a standing at the front of the field while immediately establishing a noteworthy pace. For laps two, three, and four, the distance between he and leader Cameron McAdoo who evaded him, seemed to remain rather steady...however, Vialle's attrition prevailed amid lap five - creating a plentiful margin that allowed (albeit, a slight) bit of room to breathe as the halfway point approached. Simultaneously, after making crisp passes on Haiden Deegan and Seth Hammaker, while moving into second place, definitively, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider (i.e. McAdoo) would leap off of the raceway! The error was too large for McAdoo to simply retain the lead, therefore Vialle took the command of the field and rode with great poise. The clock continued to descend, but the number sixteen stood tall amongst the pressure of 2024 Supercross victory...and as remained mistake free in the final moments, the French rider would claim the checkered flag with a spectacular performance - leading seven laps in totality!
