Embodying similar qualities to the racecourse in Indianapolis, the track in St. Louis was one that immediately began to fill with ruts and grooves as practice began on Saturday. Every facet of the layout appeared as if it had been disced with a comb of sorts, constantly deepening as time progressed. Yet somehow, someway, the number thirty-four of Ryder DiFrancesco was an athlete who took his outdoor prowess and put it on display for the crowd in Missouri to marvel over. Racing at this level, on a track of this magnitude, required the utmost focus...and the rider from Bakersfield displayed that as he continuously secured notable times before exiting the raceway. Once returning to his pit area, he was briefed on the game-plan for the night show; and rolled to the starting line in the minutes that followed. As the goggles were placed across his helmet, and his mechanic backed away from the starting area, it was time for Ryder to proceed in an all-out war with he and the fellow combatants of the 250cc SX division. Amongst the first three laps, he stood within positions of fifth to seventh while aiming for a higher regard. Scrubbing his way over the latter "SX" triple, his ability to remain planted on the chassis when shredding the corner thereafter was applauded by those in the first few rows of the crowd. Occasionally, the rear brake would have to be tapped in mid-air to alter his trajectory amongst the steep rhythm lanes; constantly landing with immeasurable intensity while trying to distance the margin between he and Yamaha's Michael Mosiman. The fellow California rider was persistent, but ultimately couldn't overtake him as Ryder acquired seventh at the checkered flag. For the second moto, with Levi Kitchen leading the field around, he knew that establishing a sprint-like pace of sports was imminent, if he wanted to remain engaged with riders in the top-three. Flat-tracking his way around the gradual right-handed bend after the finish line, roost would be projected from his rear wheel when skating around the switchbacks that followed; the clutch of his GasGas motorcycle engaging in some of the highest RPM's of anyone. The process of pushing through the marks of three laps to go, two laps, and then the white flag, eventually aided his final residency of seventh (after residing third for a significant portion of the moto), as all was said and done. Partaking in the adrenaline-filled third moto of the evening, the fight for the highest points accumulation was on. He had flown through the endless trenches on the circuit with excellent marksmanship, but unfortunately came to a halt after the "SX" triple near the finish-line. Hooking his foot-peg on the inner most tuff-block, he would crash and be forced to reside eighteenth as results were registered. He had no choice but to claw for every position possible, and all was said and done, his final standing of twelfth propelled him to eighth-place overall.
