RYDER DIFRANCESCO| GRIT-222 | SX 250
As fans began to arrive at the Hangtown MX facility, hundreds of attendee's would immediately attempt to locate the whereabouts of the number seventy-five. Ryder DiFrancesco had been on fire in recent memory in regard to speed, and there was no question as to whether or not he could succeed while stationed in Northern California for this early June weekend. After configuring the strongest of lines in practice, he would roll to the opportunistic starting grid that would be followed by a rather wide first turn (in comparison to what was given last week). Nevertheless, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasakirider would immediately develop into a pattern that was synonymous with positions inside the top-six. The switchback section atop the first hill was problematic, but as he hopped into the subtle double that followed (preceding the right-hander thereafter) it was easy to identify how well the suspension of his Kawasakimotorcycle was working. He would begin to infiltrate into a position that was closer to the rear wheel of Guillem Farres after his teammate Jett Reynolds had fallen, and continued on a furthered pace -which proved that his stamina was top tier and he could actually gain momentum as laps would pass. The relatively new section of rollers that were doubled (before launching into the mechanic's area) were also a platform where he could gain ground in a timely fashion; yet this time, it would be on the offensive front in comparison to Levi Kitchenwho trailed. Time was continuing to tick, and the heat from his Kawasakiengine would be sweltering as the moto carried on...but there was no backing down from the Californianative, who eventually claimed eighthbefore partaking in the second round of festivities. The race lead would be captured by Justin Cooper, as he and Honda's Hunter Lawrencewould combat opposing forces at the top of the leaderboard. However Ryderwould have to be acknowledged for his own projection of speed, as he sped through the split lane (which was covered with ruts) at the height of third gear with an unwavering throttle output. Grooves had now been entrenched in every facet of the layout, including atop each hill that surrounded the roller section. His pace was certainly on point with those in the top-five, but a crucial mistake would cause a sudden lapse of speed when nearing the final third of the moto...which unfortunately had him being overtaken by a few riders when approaching the checkered flag. He would be finalized in thirteenth, which when paired with his first moto score (of eighth), established him in a stellar overall standing of tenth as all concluded in Northern California.
