RJ HAMPSHIRE GRIT-224 250MX

RJ HAMPSHIRE | GRIT-224 | 250MX

Florida's RJ Hampshire would display his astounding sense of speed once more while competing in Pennsylvania on Saturday, qualifying seventh amongst the muddy Pennsylvania hillside and storming into the first moto looking to attack the track in every facet. The number twenty-four would then blast forward from the starting gate with fearlessness, bombarding his way through the rollers with the back-end slightly swapping! He was one to never let off the gas, attacking the corner(s) that followed with as much RPM as possible while blasting through the piles of mud that were scattered amongst the layout. Hampshire would flawlessly execute his game-plan as time would pass, building a lead over teammate Jalek Swoll and rookie, Haiden Deegan; where he was seemingly in a world of his own as laps continued to amass. His lead would stretch to over seven-seconds (in front of Deegan) until a substantial crash would occur on his behalf! It would be in the final valley, going uphill, prior to the largest flyaway jump on the track - where Hampshire would stick into an uneven rut of sorts, and slide to the ground in the middle of the straightaway! This allowed the number 238 machine around, where he was able to open-up a multiple second gap (just after the eighteen-minute mark of the moto had passed). Time was continuing to tick, as Hampshire raced to the rear wheel of Deegan; but even amongst lap-traffic and downed riders, he couldn't seem to pass Haiden once and for all! Nevertheless, the persistence of Hampshire would flourish...where on the final lap of the moto, his sweeping line (to the furthest inside groove) when storming into the trees, would allow him to surge past Haiden! The two would then nearly come together upon exiting the wooded area, with feet flying from the pegs, and their two machines almost colliding! However Hampshire wouldn't relinquish his twisting of the throttle - which propelled him to victory when he crossed the finish line shortly thereafter! For moto number two, his start (within the top-five) would quickly be deterred as he and Jalek Swoll would come together! Both riders were on the ground, and forced to hop onto their motorcycle(s) as quickly as possible, leading to a frantic charge being displayed on behalf of RJ in the laps thereafter. He would complete the first full lap in twenty-second, which was followed by an outpouring of speed and fearless tactic(s) being generated as he weaved through the pack ahead! Nearly washing-out, swapping amongst the rollers, and knifing the front-end on countless occasions, Hampshire would remain focused on racing forward as hard as possible. This led to an eventual seventh-place score being obtained for the moto, and a stellar second-overall run being garnered, as action ceased in Pennsylvania.
