PIERCE BROWN - GRIT 243 250SX

GRIT-243 | 250 SX

The speed and talent of the GasGas rider were unquestionable. And after only a few rounds in (to this particular championship), Utah's Pierce Brown was quietly in contention for the point's lead as the round of Birmingham came to fruition. He rode with a superb sense of self belief in practice, throttling through the muddy terrain with composure as he registered one phenomenal lap-time after another. The persona of confidence never left the athlete aboard the number thirty-nine machine, and as the green flag then waved for the second heat race, Brown secured a fourth-place position just behind Chance Hymas...while pursuing the wheel set of the Honda rider with all of his might. There were certain opportunities on the racetrack where Brown was making time, but the multitude of inside pathways that were constructed by those at the front of the pack would make it difficult for significant moves to be made. The battle for second however, would be relevant and pleasing to the crowd as laps progressed...to a climactic point in all actuality. It was with only two to go, where Chance Hymas and Jalek Swoll would block pass one another and Jalek crashed to the ground! As a result, Brown would move into third. But he wasn't done, and actually created a beautiful sequences of lines to overtake Hymas on the last lap as well! Finishing third, Pierce's flow when rolling to the starting gate for the main event was palpable and applauded by those in the crowd! As engines fired and the first laps of the final would begin, Pierce resided seventh. By the sixth circuit, he had figured out the fastest lines and would leap from various plateaus with brilliant timing - staying on a replicable path to that of Seth Hammaker...though veteran Jeremy Martin would get in between the two opponents, and the Yamaha rider would showcase a tremendous amount of speed on his own behalf. This led to lap six, where Brown overtook the veteran -and was now in fifth, behind Seth Hammaker. Jalek Swoll (at that time) occupied third, but would wash-out amid the corner that was combined with the opening bend...resulting in Brown moving to fourth. With only a final leg of this main event now left to complete, it was a process of Brown limiting his mistakes if he wanted to secure fourth in the record book. His composure was commendable, and as racers exited the course in Birmingham, Pierce was registered in fourth overall for the 250SX classification.
