PIERCE BROWN - GRIT 239 250SX
May 18, 2024 · Pierce Brown

GRIT-239 | 250 SX
Following a performance in qualification where he earned first-place honors, GasGas' Pierce Brown embody that confidence as he shifted into gear for the main event as well - knowing that every lap counted, when in contention for this 250cc SX East Coast Championship. Upon leaping from the grate, Brown would battle for a standing of sixth on the leaderboard. Knowing that critical positions (for main event gate choices) were on the line, he proceeded to dive into a multitude of turns with all of his might...which unfortunately result in a collision with Jalek Swoll, that send the Triumph rider flying off the race track (over the berm) just before the "SX" triple! Now into fourth, he and Seth Hammaker would undergo a serious battle as well...but the Kawasaki rider managed to get by in the meantime. Brown continued to triple-in, and onto the plateau after the finish line to the best of his ability; despite countless ruts being carved amid the rather abrupt and steep single at the exit of the course. Using every bit of suspension travel possible when over jumping certain obstacles on occasion, Brown was now seemingly gaining time with the extra effort being put forth! This all would transpire within the last two-to-three laps of the contest, where the GasGas rider ultimately clinched third...behind Austin Forkner and Daxton Bennick. The start to the main event was hectic but Brown managed to gather a result of thirteenth as the green flag waved, and he immediately declared that he was traveling to the front of the pack. Leaping through the whoops to the best of his ability, he managed to advance to the top-ten rather quickly; while blasting amongst the sandy section with his GasGas engine wide-open. Scrubbing the finish line thereafter while eventually reaching the Husqvarna of Guillem Farres, Brown was continuing to pressure the athlete from Spain as the halfway and three-quarter marks were passed. (Again), with the big picture of a championship in mind, Pierce understood how valuable points were at this stage of the series journey...therefore he unleashed a plethora of power while continuing to combo lines of triples together, especially when amongst the opening rhythm lane on the track. Flowing amongst the bowls that followed, he could see ClubMX Yamaha's Coty Schock ahead once into fifth, but the race was set to conclude in the laps thereafter. Though garnering a fifth in the record book, Brown embodied a feeling of accomplishment - believing that even higher results were yet to come.
