MICHAEL MOSIMAN | GRIT-210 | SX 250

Racing at the pinnacle of the sport, the composure of Michael Mosiman would be admirable given the stage that was set in Texas. Competing within the legendary Dallas Cowboys venue, it would be easy for many riders to become overwhelmed with the magnitude of the platform that was designated for action on Saturday night. However, Mosiman stayed poised; whipping the chassis of his GasGas 250 sideways on countless occasions while floating through the air in both untimed and timed practice sessions. His charging speed into the left-hander that preceded the finish-line was out of this world; dragging the inner foot-peg while keeping the clutch lever just inches from the soil that was beneath his wheel set. And it wasn't as though this was a rarity in his arsenal of skills, with a sixth-place position of qualification being acquired before engaging in the moto-one sprint that followed. Once here, the stampede of riders would infiltrate the inside of turn number-one to the best of their abilities. Engines were barking and flirting atop the rev-limiter(s) as if they were overwhelmed with urgency and panic. He chose to stay a gear tall, however, and remained within a calculated stance while surging through the first three laps. His pace, along with Chris Blose were nearly identical on most portions of the track. Though he seemed to have the Pro Circuit rider covered within the rhythm section that was between the "SX" triple and finish-line. He couldn't disregard his rivals antics and infiltration of various insides though, keeping the door shut with an acute entry into the final left-handed corner prior to acquiring the white flag. If he could just defend and remain mistake free, the seventh-position would be his...and that's exactly what would occur prior to moving forward to the second main event. The pressure of the Triple Crown format would grow higher, with many on the roster becoming winded and rather fatigued. He would hold strong though, and block a series of negative thoughts from entering into his mentality while blistering around the circuit on lap number one. His burst of speed when squaring-up the corner after the whoops, was magnificent; acting as a sling-shot when inching away from Cullin Park who was (at one point) just behind him. Landing atop the downslope of the tunnel jump, he would arc the swaying right-hander that followed with his weight shifted to the outside...keeping this pattern of racing technique into the final lap(s) that were left to conquer. Eventually residing in sixth, there wouldn't be much time to waste prior to beginning the third moto of the evening. Managing to jump-onto the tabletop (and over) when the time called for it, his precision with the throttle remained imminent as jagged edges would be dug upon various faces and lips. He was always ready for kick(s) of the rear-end, and remained steadfast when powering forward, until a subsequent wash-out (beneath the tunnel-jump) would derail his magnificent initial running position of second on the leaderboard. Doing his best to pass as many riders as possible (after the fact), Mosiman's capturing of seventh would solidify him in seventh overall.
