MAXIMUS VOHLAND - GRIT 233 250SMX

MAXIMUS VOHLAND | GRIT-233 | 250 SMX

Seeking to infiltrate the top-ten after just missing out on the accolade at last week's Charlotte event, KTM's Maximus Vohland would be eager to propel onto the racetrack in Chicago...as the layout in Illinois embodied a series of high speed characteristics that played into his repertoire of skills. His "attack" position when flying around the flattest, sweeping left-handed bend of them all would be immaculate; which helped generate a plethora of confidence before storming from the gate(s) of moto-one. Doing his best to avoid the roost of his adversaries, there was a ripple effect from riders being bottled-up when descending from the highest point (in regard to elevation) on the racetrack...as various opponents would decide to take the shortest route possible amongst inside lanes - meanwhile the number thirty-four machine would sweep to the outer portion(s) while "grabbing extra gears" and using his surplus of momentum as a means to make passes! And those inherited positions would propel him forward from fourteenth, into tenth by the time lap four would arise - which was indicative of his aspirations and wit, aboard the layout that was encompassed with high speed(s). His charge was never ending, where Vohland's aspirations warranted applause from the crowd and acknowledgement by those he was competing against; where some, would have to move out of his way, in regard to the pace he was demonstrating! Even through some of the largest coupling of doubles on the track, the Californian would display a means of staying lower and compressing the chassis from reaching its highest point of airtime - which enabled him to pass Jalek Swoll, Seth Hammaker, and Jordon Smith just before the checkered flag! Finalized in eighth, those in his corner would have to respect the never-ending charge that was displayed on Maximus' behalf. For round number two of the multi-portion sequence, Vohland was steady with his aim in regard to pin-pointing line(s) amongst the first few laps. The soil would sustain moisture in certain areas of the course, while drying out in other facets as well. Yet with constant changes of body positioning, Vohland was able to acquire solid times and an eighth-place residency by the time lap-five arose. He would then overtake both, Ryder DiFrancesco and Tom Vialle while seeking to attack the raceway at even higher paces...which was pushing the envelope in all reality, with numerous tapered straightaways being overcome with acceleration bumps and slicker aspects of the soil's base. Nevertheless, the number thirty-four remained vigilant while sustaining incredible speeds, which allowed him to capitalize on the Yamaha of Justin Cooper as well -granting him fifth for the moto, and fifth overall, as well!
