An assembly of 250cc riders would flock to the gate(s) of State Farm Stadium following a prolific practice run, portrayed by none other than KTM's Maximus Vohland as he blitzed the whoop section with absolute fearlessness throughout both time and untimed sessions. There was little this layout could throw at him that would discourage his efforts of throttle twisting, which was apparent as the green flag was cast for the opening main event of the evening. It was Jett Lawrence and Levi Kitchen who took reign of the field as quickly as possible; even after the red-flag restart...but moments thereafter, disaster struck for the number thirty-four rider. He would be amongst the top of the field but wedged to the outside in the left-hander after the initial rhythm lane, and Michigan's Mitchell Harrison would have nowhere to go but to the right - where he collided with the KTM athlete. Both were subsequently sent to the ground and forced to remount their motorcycles as quickly as possible, throwing caution to the wind as they stormed the rest of the track. However Vohland's machine didn't appear to be at full form, and as he proceeded to try and circulate the track, he would feel it was best to just accumulate laps rather than to "risk it" and compromise his chances at a solid overall. Eventually he would end the moto in eighteenth, filled with determination for the following moto on the horizon. For the next bout, he escaped the confine(s) of the green flag with his vision set on the top-five. Though riders like Jett Lawrence were racing extremely well, but he felt as if he could contend with the top in the division if he was able to "hit his marks" as desired. The transition of the second triple (amid the initial rhythm section) was now cupped to a noticeable degree, sending his frame into a distinctive and abrupt nose-dive that was countered with body English and throttle twisting. He would read the pit board as he blasted past the halfway point, doing all in his power to keep the longevity of his arms fresh for the final two-lap burst (that would hopefully solidify a standing of sixth) over Mitchell Oldenburg who was on his tail...and with confidence, he leapt over the finish-line with (the aforementioned sixth) prior to moving into the final outing of the evening. Tension(s) were high as the field completed the opening circuit, with countless riders weaving from left to right and disregarding etiquette for an advancement within the overall standing(s). He would do what was necessary to attack the group of riders just ahead of him, including Enzo Lopes (though he was unable to move around the ClubMX Yamaha athlete in the latter stages). His exceptional race-craft would prevail as the clock continued to tick down, applying both brakes as necessary amongst the multitude of hard-pack(ed) corners...leading to an eventual accrual of sixth, for eighth in the final standings.
