MAX VOHLAND | GRIT-217 | SX 250
Racing at one of the highest level(s) fans had seen thus far in his career, KTM's Max Vohland would "put on a clinic" if you will, in regard to how to tackle a muddy Supercross course! Though the day wouldn't begin like that for the number thirty-four, who provided an array of laps that "wowed" those in the stands while competing with his fellow members of the 250cc West Coast division. Vohland was steadfast in his pursuit of the highest tier of riders, which was exhibited (as well) amongst the heat racing format...where he immediately contended for the lead position against Florida's RJ Hampshire. Though Hampshire would provide an excellent sense of pathways on the outer portions of this layout, slinging roost from the tops of berms as if he were driving through the sands of the Sunshine State. But Vohland wasn't going to stop pursuing that easily, and remained engaged in conquering the runner-up position until otherwise notified by Honda's Jett Lawrence. He would do all in his power to keep the red-plate holder at bay, but it would be in the last two circuits where Jett would make his way past; pushing Vohland to third on the leaderboard before entering into the one-of-a-kind main event. The track was in horrific shape as the skies opened up, but Vohland would return to the starting grid with eagerness to pull a hole-shot; which almost occurred, except for that of Honda's Max Anstie seemed to possess a bit more drive than what he could garner. Maximus seemed to nearly overtake the lead in the rhythm section that followed, but the door would be shut on behalf of the British native and it was from that point (and forward) that Vohland was forced to the runner-up residency. He would hold strong in second until just before the eighth lap, when a sweeping move to the inside (by Jett Lawrence) to begin the whoop section would deter Vohland in the running order, to the final podium residency. Shortly thereafter RJ Hampshire would also make a pass, pushing Vohland to fourth where a final few laps of havoc would ensue...as RJ Hampshire and Jett Lawrence then crashed into one another in the final turn; leaving many scrambling, and both, Hunter Lawrence and Maximus vying for the second place position with riders scattered just before the finish-line! However it was Maximus who couldn't seem to get past the Honda tandem, as only RJ Hampshire could be overtaken with his Husqvarna machine stuck in the mud. Ultimately finishing in fourth, the ride presented by the Californian would be phenomenal.ots of Hunter Lawrence were destined to excel as the gate(s) collapsed and he was on his way around the first lap of competition. Hunter would be located around the fifth-place residency, with competitors from both coasts just in front of him as he bombarded his way through rhythm sections with accompanying splashes! Limiting his mistakes as he swept through the first quarter of the race, he remained fifth until passing the halfway point as well; with Max Anstie, Jett Lawrence, RJ Hampshire, and Maximus Vohland in front of him. It eventually appeared as though fifth place would be cemented, however in the final moments of action would he overtake Max Vohland while nearly simultaneously encountering RJ Hampshire and his brother crashed together on the ground, in the final turn! It was an absolute chaotic mess as athletes were scrambling to return to their bikes. But somehow, someway, would Hunter work his way into third just behind his brother, as he finished the moto in style!
