LEVI KITCHEN - GRIT 259 250SX

Following last week's incredible performance in Millville, Levi Kitchen, without a doubt, would receive a surplus of attention from fans and members of the industry alike when arriving to his hometown race in Washougal, Washington. It was taxing, and the Kawasaki rider would do his best to remain focused as practice came to fruition on Saturday...where he transferred into the main event segment(s) thereafter with notable gate choice. Though a lackluster start would be on display for the athlete aboard the number forty-seven machine, where Kitchen was battling just inside the top-twenty in the moto's initial stages. He was having to combat roost, alongside names like Joey Savatgy. And after approaching the rear wheel of Casey Cochran (when nearing the halfway point) Kitchen couldn't seem to make the pass, as quickly as desired! He was seemingly stuck in the fifteenth-place standing, until going off course not far before the finish line! He eventually regained his composure, and had to fight forward yet again to be established near the top-ten...and as the checkered flag waved, Kitchen's final finish (of twelfth) would keep him in contention for a solid overall score if he could advanced, via round-two competition. For the second moto, it was a fifth-place residency that was secured by the Kawasaki rider...but incredible, daring feats of jumping would enable him to secure the fourth-place position rather quickly! He seemed fearless when flying over the largest ant-hill, nearly coming together with Jalek Swoll to secure the aforementioned spot in the running order. But Jo Shimoda would have to be acknowledged, and would actually pass Kitchen over the finish-line jump, as seven minutes of action had transpired. He then advanced within the running order after passing Ryder DiFrancesco, and once past the GasGas athlete, there was little that could stand within the path of Kitchen as he accelerated to the final flag. Jo Shimoda was riding very well while occupying the third-place standing...and so to, were both leaders of the field. But Kitchen was as motivated as anyone could imagine, where in every facet of the course, cheers from the crowd would nearly erase the sound(s) of his engine...with the roaring from fans, becoming almost deafening! He never lost concentration though, even when concluding the sixteenth circuit...and earned a final moto score of fourth, for a notable sixth-place overall in the Pacific Northwest.
