Washington's Levi Kitchen aspired to prove that his skillset remained in a top-tier category among the 250MX classification, while stationed in Michigan on Saturday. He was proficient in the sand/loamy soil combination among practice laps, and as he constantly gathered information for the moto's thereafter, Levi appeared to be a betting favorite for fans who watched from afar. The atmosphere was electric as the thirty-second board would go sideways in the opening moto of the afternoon, and upon racing through the first lap, Kitchen appeared to generate a standing near fifth while exhibiting a remarkable flow amongst the array of berms on the Red Bud facility. Though hailing from the Northwest, his style of riding toward the rear of the KX250 seat appeared to be rather synchronized with the deep loam of this Michigan course, which resulted in a plethora of power when attacking the numerous elevation changes around the circuit. He appeared to be on-point and solidified within the fifth-place position when nearing the halfway point, though Jo Shimoda's pressure was too much for Kitchen to try and disregard...resulting in the Honda rider working his way by, when storming toward the final quarter of the moto. His execution of lines, even toward the final stage(s) of the moto, was a remarkable sight to see - leaving Kitchen in sixth at the checkered flag, before advancing to the following round. For the second moto of the afternoon, Levi was determined to lay it all on the line, in order to generate a commendable finish at the top of the field. Once scrubbing past the green flag over the legendary finish-line tabletop, Kitchen would land with authority while projecting immense roost from the rear wheel of his Kawasaki machine. He resided fourth, while just behind race leaders Ryder DiFrancesco, Jo Shimoda, and Chance Hymas. Levi would pass the GasGas athlete before the end of the second lap, taking third, but was then surpassed by teammate, Ty Masterpool. He resided behind Masterpool for a significant portion of time, but around the twelfth lap, the native of Texas began to fade, just a bit. The slight absence of speed was enough for Kitchen to move forward, and with the opportunity to claim the third-place position now within his grasp, Levi secured the standing and proceeded to sprint toward the checkered flag. He maintained a solid output of velocity and excelled with incredible momentum to the finish line, earning an eventual moto score of third, which equated to sixth among final standings.
