The "Hometown Hero" embarked on a multitude of practice laps early in the afternoon hours, soaking-in the atmosphere of his native state of Washington. Growing-up in the town of Washougal, Levi Kitchen proceeded to have dozens of family and friends in attendance while competition took place at Lumen Field - and he excelled once hearing the extraordinary amount of applause that erupted from around the stadium. His momentum was palpable, and carried into heat number one where a brilliant start was displayed. There was little to critique as the pack funneled into turn number one, and after thirty-second of action (or so) it seemed clear that Kitchen was a in a "flow state" per se aboard the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki machine. The number forty-seven was flawless in every facet, skimming the whoops while scrubbing his way over the wall-jump that followed with effortlessness. Lugging the motor with efficiency while down-shifting at the last possible second when ducking into various wall berms, his lead steadily amplified over championship rival RJ Hampshire as they neared the checkered flag. Ultimately leading all nine laps while generating a gap of over nine seconds, Kitchen's win for this heat race ignited a sense of momentum that was difficult for the competition to deny. To begin the main event, Levi's start was phenomenal. He would immediately excel to the front of the pack while establishing a remarkable pace, once again building a gap over second place (which was Jordon Smith) in the early stages. As the main event narrative unfolded, Kitchen remained steadfast at the front of the pack. He was exceptional even when moving into lap traffic, disregarding the paths of others even when they took the optimal line choices. As each quarter of the moto would pass, Kitchen continued to excel - eventually working his way to one of the most dominant performances in recent memory where he led all eighteen laps, ahead of every other championship contender in the class! Leaping over the final double with a stylish whip, he landed from the jump while revving the throttle to its maximum limit - embracing the applause from the crowd as he flourished in his home state venue! With only little time now remaining in the championship, look for Kitchen to continue rising to the occasion, time and time again, with the number one plate in mind; building on the eight-point lead that had been generated on Saturday evening.
