KEN ROCZEN - GRIT 240 450SX
May 18, 2024 · Ken Roczen

GRIT-240 | 450 SX
Suzuki's Ken Roczen had earned countless remarkable finishes thus far in 2024, and had no plans of stopping any time soon. His off-season process of staying on the motorcycle while accumulating as many gate drops as possible would be considered extraordinary in retrospect, and the German athlete appeared more confident than ever as he whipped his way through practice on Saturday as well. Flying through corners of steep berms and flattened angles, there was little that could stand in the way of the number ninety-four machine as the checkered flag was eventually thrown. After establishing a game plan and unleashing the power of his Suzuki onto the racetrack for that of heat one. Ken would be a standout talent, in regard to overall speed that was shown in the first few laps. Flowing amongst the finish line section, where he scrubbed the final double with a valiant compressing maneuver of the suspension (as many riders were over jumping the obstacle), Ken appeared rather comfortable when pushing the pace per se, on this Arizona racetrack. He and Malcolm Stewart had battled over the lead initially, but by the time Roczen had sped through the initial set of whoops, there was little that could stand in the way of the Suzuki rider. And as laps were accumulated, Roczen remained in total control of the field - taking reign over the division, and never looking back. Ultimately proving that he possessed the speed necessary to contend for an overall race win, his heat race victory was stellar given the magnitude of the opponents alongside him. Within the first sequences of the main event, Ken would reside in first-place while seeking to garner a pace that others couldn't topple within the first five laps. Flowing through the sand with a tremendous sense of composure rather than one of a hurried style, Ken's maneuvering of the motorcycle was flawless. The racetrack appeared to be coming to Roczen with effortlessness, as he scrubbed each triple with slick turn-downs of the front-end, while perfectly hopping through the longest rhythm lanes with tremendous tripling combinations. Minute by minute, his lead would grow...and he could monitor the likes of Jason Anderson in paralleled lanes behind him. That narrative never ceased, and as Roczen ultimately led all twenty laps of this historic performance, a gigantic whip would be contacted as flames would burst from the finish line double! Well deserved, for the German rider!
