The expectations of KTM's Julien Beaumer were of the highest standard. The rider who hailed from Arizona was an exceptional athlete, and resided at the pinnacle of the sport for numerous years now - creating a foundation that had flourished at the professional level thus far. There was no turning back, and he'd worked too hard to strive for anything less than a top-ten as round number two of the outdoor championship came to fruition on Saturday. As the green flag waved for practice, he took a few minutes to survey the track, and the additional top-soil that had been added to the circuit in the days prior. The loam added a bit more cushion amongst the mid-point(s) of corners and entry lanes alike, creating an array of line choices along with additional stopping power if need be, at times. He flowed through the canvas with excellent style, too, eventually arriving to the starting grid of moto-one with an extensive amount of attention on behalf of fans and rivals alike. Blasting through the first lap, Beaumer had secured a position of third while attempting to track-down Chance Hymas and Levi Kitchen who were ahead of him. The margin between the two opponents was thin, but there was a definite feud and gave of "give and take" as they excelled against one another in different aspects of the course. Launching over the largest uphill leap, he would stretch the chassis out as far as possible before landing on the downslope with a harsh thud - immediately pummeling chopping braking bumps before ducking-into the corner that followed. Though ultimately passed by opponents like Haiden Deegan, Tom Vialle, and Jo Shimoda, Beaumer's residency within the top-ten was enough for him to stay amongst single digit territory to the checkered flag...claiming ninth after an admirable showcase of speed was displayed. In the following moto, the first eight minutes (or so) rivaled the intensity of a Supercross heat race. Block passes, lane-changing, and extensive revving were found throughout various pockets of the pack - and numerous Acerbis markers were nearly clipped when athletes were establishing a flow amongst the chaos. However Beaumer was able to occupy fifth after another solid start - before blasting through the rollers that were just before the finish-line. Wheel-tapping and hopping among the pockets (that were now a bit edged and pot-holed, per se), his flow was something that seemed a bit more difficult for athletes like Pierce Brown to mimic. Though the aforementioned GasGas rider was intense on his own behalf, Beaumer's totality of speed (throughout the duration of the moto) seemed to be on another level...especially when surging through the twenty-five minute mark. His trajectory never ceased en route to the checkered flag flying - occupying ninth for a solid, ninth overall in the record book.
