"Finally." Was the phrase that would be spoken by many in the field as they arrived to the domed venue in which the round of "STL" resided. Mother Nature couldn't deter this particular circuit (too much, at least) in regard to unleashing precipitation onto the layout mid-moto, as in week's past! Though the soil in Missouri carried its patented rutted persona...and revealed its true roots as a plethora of bikes had launched onto the raceway for practice. With the "SX Futures" classification taking place at this particular round as well, the surplus of bikes would cause ruts to grow deeper than many season's past...though Julien Beaumer showed that he was as versatile as ever after the green flag waved for the opening bout. Levi Kitchen, Jo Shimoda, and RJ Hampshire were just some of the top-tier contenders within the field racing alongside him. But he remained confident as the halfway point came to pass, flicking the KTM chassis over the largest gapped-jumps with a sense of composure that couldn't be forged, after briefly moving into the lead, and retaining second for a significant portion of time (i.e. six laps in total). He appeared to be one step ahead of the competition in many instances, including as he continuously approached the whoop section. In a rapid transition from seated to standing, he was in the "attack" position for what seemed to be a half-second (or longer) when compared to his adversaries. He flourished, and made sure to constantly extend the gap between he and Ryder DiFrancesco who was pursuing him with all of his might. The thought of being surpassed before the finish-line was one immense motivation...and aided him in capturing sixth alongside the final flag. The game-plan for success (in moto two) was one of early momentum, and constant stabilization amongst the rutted canvas. Lines that were once considered "optimal" had now been categorized as an afterthought as he completed the first three circuits of action, clinging to the inner and outer boundaries of the raceway with delicate balance while being hounded by none other than opponents like Josh Varize and Cole Thompson, after unfortunately being registered in fifteenth. The rider from Arizona wasn't going to stop with that notion though, and as minutes passed by the resilience of Beaumer shined through. It was evident that a position inside the top-ten was going to be his, and as he clawed his way to an eventual standing of eighth, his mentality then shifted to a high stakes, third-moto sequence. It was now a matter of going "all-in" if he wanted to sustain a single digit overall finish. He obliged to that notion, and sped through the first four laps of the contest with daring efforts over both "SX" triples. There was no hesitation when choosing a specific line that appeared in the foreground, loosely (though in control) while climbing atop the largest jump faces while possessing various positions from fifth, to seventh, on the overall leaderboard. Minute by minute, he remained resilient when under fire from Phil Nicoletti who was just bike lengths behind. He combatted the charge of the veteran from New York, and excelled to the eventual checkered flag in seventh, which correlated to seventh overall as well!
