JULIEN BEAUMER | GRIT-217 | SX FUTURES
The consistent ways of Julien Beaumer would translate to the soil(s) of MetLife Stadium, where the KTM rider flourished amongst the pebbly terrain throughout practice on Friday. Qualifying with immense intensity aboard his number twenty-nine machine, Beaumer adopted a flow that was difficult for the competition to replicate; in particular amongst rhythm lanes and the whoop pad that forced athletes to navigate with the utmost precision. His momentum amongst the transitions in the section just after the elevated corner were worthy of applause, tripling his way through the segment that followed with confidence prior to sprinting toward the finish line. His effort(s) to begin the weekend would grant him with the overall pole position; where an identical pace would be portrayed in Saturday's qualification round(s) and Beaumer would ultimately clench first (in the latter sessions) prior to embarking on the main event that was to follow. As the thirty-second board went sideways, Beaumer was zeroed-in on the inside of turn number one; hoping to break away from the field as quickly as possible and race on an open track where he was free to race with whatever pathway(s) he desired. And in the early going, he would claim the lead; rocketing from the gate with his aspirations set on establishing a gap over the rest of the field. It was he and his KTM machine, against the track, where he was constantly striving for furthered lap-times while the likes of Ryder DiFrancesco and Daxton Bennick would have to quarrel against the pack. Beaumer was beginning to encounter lap traffic, the race progressed, although he remained fluid through every sector with polished timing. Jumping through the split-lane/rhythm section with ease, his pattern(s) through the whoop section were also flawless...but it seemed as though the pace of Bennick was aggressively ramping up. And it wasn't a mirage, as the Yamaha rider was on the move; and coming fast! This would lead to a lap last pursuit that had Beaumer hearing the engine of the 241 machine, in all portions of the layout. The climactic point of the moto would come in the final corner of action, where Beaumer would storm to the outside of a lapped rider, while Bennick sprinted to the inside - and they nearly took each other down! However it was the velocity of the number twenty-nine that ultimately prevailed, as he powered forward by mere feet, to take the win in a thrilling manner!
