JETT LAWRENCE - GRIT 244 450SX

GRIT-244 |450 SX

As practice concluded in the 450cc division, Honda's Jett Lawrence again remained at the forefront of the conversation...continuing to build a significant presence through the 450SX class as the 2024 series moved along. His confidence was radiating as the gate(s) fell for the opening main event, with the Australian immediately moving into the runner-up standing after the second corner...following none other than Ken Roczen as the two broke away from the pack behind him. Stalking the lines of the German rider for a number of laps, Lawrence steadily creeped forward with a few differing rhythm combinations - and would follow Roczen as they both leapt over the anthill wall and into the whoop section. Speeding to the finish-line to begin the seventh lap of action, Lawrence noticed Roczen drifting wide while in the air. This was all that was needed for the Australian to cut to the inside with a valiant effort, somehow floating through the inside rollers with phenomenal expertise to take the lead! Now in command of the field, there was little that could stand in his way as he maneuvered to the eventual checkered flag at the conclusion of the sixteenth lap. Eventually taking the win, his sights were then set on the following moto. He bolted from the line while alongside Ken Roczen and Aaron Plessinger; with both opponents making it quite difficult for him to run away with the lead. Just when it seemed as though the Honda rider were going to distance himself to an unattainable gap, a brief lapse in speed would cause Germany's Ken Roczen to push forward and into the lead before the mechanics area (on the opening circuit)! This diverted Jett to the runner-up registry, but he was going to persistently hound the rear wheel of the number ninety-four as long as necessary. This set the stage for a brilliant move to be conducted on the seventh lap, where Lawrence's line in the rhythm lane that converged with the start straightaway was enough to "block pass" Ken in the corner before the "SX" triple. Landing from the large obstacle that was previously mentioned, he proceeded to sway through the next corners with a commanding presence that started a streak of ten laps led in total...creating a superb path to victory lane once again, before embarking on the third contest. In moto three, Jett's jump from the starting grate was spectacular, but Ken Roczen and Chase Sexton surrounded him. The number eighteen wasn't focused on the Illinois native who trailed, and continued to chip away at the gap that was established by the German rider. Knowing that he didn't necessarily have to win, the desire for victory overrode the "safe scenario" per se...therefore with three minutes and fifteen-seconds left on the clock, a brilliant jumping line in the combination of jumps before the mechanics area was put forth. This, led to Lawrence taking the lead once and for all - which created a sweeping of the trilogy, en route to an overall victory!
