JETT LAWRENCE | GRIT-215 | SX 250

Jett Lawrence's immeasurable talent would be on display yet again as action began in Glendale on Saturday, storming through practice with a means to set the tone (early) as lap-times were established. His presence would be felt by all within the 250cc West Coast brigade, and as the field assembled for the first moto of the evening, it would be Lawrence immediately competed for an initial winning designation. Working his way into the lead rather quickly, he and Levi Kitchen would contend (for quite sometime) over the number one position on the leaderboard. The action was electric, and so much so, that after Lawrence had jumped past the green flag, it would be Kitchen who moved his way forward in the corner thereafter! However Kitchen's lead wouldn't last long, as Lawrence took back the number-one spot, just before an unfortunate red-flag was thrown...and with a full-race restart, the field aligned on the grid once more, where Kitchen was able to narrowly edge ahead of Jett and establish a lead as they made their way passed the green flag (again). Lawrence wouldn't become flustered or over-ridden with aggression though, and stayed composed while zeroing-in on the Yamaha rider. Lawrence would ignore RJ Hampshire (who was now third) and stayed within striking distance of the Washington native until there were roughly six and a half minutes remaining on the clock. At that point, Jett would generate a sensational output of speed on the outside of the Yamaha opponent just at the conclusion of the whoop section, taking the lead once and for all! From that point forward, it would be Lawrence who remained in the driver's seat; leading through the checkered flag that followed and heading into the second main event with confidence. For moto number-two, however, Jett didn't seem to possess the firepower that he'd portrayed throughout the majority of his career. He was rather "off-pace" if you will and would begin the moto in fourth. And after only passing Maximus Vohland, Lawrence couldn't seem to make substantial ground on RJ Hampshire or Levi Kitchen whom were ahead! For the duration of the eleven lap contest, he would reside third (after making the previously mentioned move)...and would be finalized here before beginning the final quest, where a usual victory, was now questionable! But Lawrence rose to the occasion as round number three came to fruition, where a second-place start would have him just behind Levi Kitchen through the completion of lap two. However it was in the split lane rhythm section (with just over seven minutes remaining on the clock) where a mistake on behalf of Kitchen would allow Lawrence to pass by! Striking quick upon the outside lane, the slight window of opportunity was all that was needed for Jett to push forward once and for all. As the lead was then captured, there was little that could get in the way of the Australian rider...where he ultimately led nine laps in totality prior to taking both the moto win, and overall victory in this Triple Crown Format!
