JETT LAWRENCE | GRIT-209 | SX 250

With his vision set on the championship, Honda's Jett Lawrence would eye victory lane prior to embarking on the itinerary of races in Oakland, California. The Australian would begin with a daunting pace in practice, completing a myriad of rhythm lanes; including multiple daring quadruple sequences, that were seemingly unmatched by few others (in both the 250cc and 450cc classes). Many could sense his confidence beginning to rise, especially as action in heat two would erupt. Though it was Cameron McAdoo who would seek to deter the red-plate holder's momentum, as he would burst forward and into an early race lead. McAdoo was on fire, and seemed urgent in his mentality to keep Lawrence at bay. But Jett was resilient, and constantly looked for away around the Iowa native (after moving past Robbie Wagemen) for the runner-up distinction. They would stay in this scenario prior to beginning lap five, when Jett's speed in the whoops couldn't be ignored, and he would move past the Kawasaki rider with a definitive pass just before the finish-line. From that point, onward, Lawrence would adopt a flow that embodied rhythm and speed...gaining knowledge and picking up lines en route to the checkered flag. Once clenching the win, Jett's initial placement within the main event (of third) would be optimal when contending with opponents, Cameron McAdoo and RJ Hampshire. It was Hampshire who held the lead, with the Honda rider in third; until the move was made on McAdoo, via a superb rhythm on the outside of the shortest whoop section. Swooping around the number forty-eight machine, he then stalked Hampshire until there were around ten and a half minutes to go on the clock. The Floridian would wash the front-end in the section of obstacles just after mechanics area, seemingly handing Jett the reign(s) to the field. That was all Lawrence needed, as he was cast as the leader to begin lap five. Many could sense his comfort as he flowed around the raceway, using various lines at his disposal with no regard for competition or being pressured. "Poetry in motion," would be a phrase that he could be coined on his behalf as the checkered flag neared, steadfast in his pursuit of victory lane. And at the conclusion of the fifteen-lap contest it would be Lawrence who grasped the race win...distancing his points lead over the rest of the field.
