JEREMY MARTIN - GRIT 243 250SX

GRIT-243 | 250 SX

Immediately leaping into the afternoon qualifying sessions (after free practice was cancelled), Yamaha's Jeremy Martin was eager to take advantage of the sunlight that peaked atop the racetrack around the 12:30 hour. Though the track could be considered simplistic by some, the rutted racing surface was a definitive factor in creating an array of demanding variables for these athletes to compete upon. Racers at this level, were going to differentiate themselves in one way or another - which shed a different light, for future track building and what design crews could put forth...nevertheless, he excelled into the night show with a tremendous amount of confidence and as the field rumbled into turn one, it would be Martin who had secured a standing of (seventh) in the sections thereafter after immediately fighting forward with a determined jump from the starting grid. There was little room for error with square edges appearing rather quickly, and ruts running from top to bottom on a multitude of jump faces. However, he stayed balanced and composed while being pursued by Hardy Munoz. The opponent wasn't going to make it easy on him, and would remain within a respectable distance as the seventh and eighth laps came to fruition. Martin could spot Jalek Swoll as he raced behind the Triumph rider...but in the end, there was too little time for Jeremy to overtake the number thirty-three machine. Eventually finalized in sixth, the eagerness to climb even higher in the main event appeared tangible for the former multi-time outdoor champion. Once into the main event, Martin would contend for the position of second while battling with Cameron McAdoo! The veteran looked extremely comfortable on the racecourse, and would defend the (then) third-place standing from Jalek Swoll as the Triumph rider constantly searched for ways around him. Lap by lap, Martin remained solid when leaping onto the far-side step-on/step-off; despite Swoll making countless attempts of infiltrating the inside pathway to his left. Though Martin would descend to fifth on the fifth lap, and sixth by the next circuit, he seemed to re-establish his presence around the halfway point while combatting the charge of others who trailed. The brief, loss of momentum was countered with a significant offensive charge of his own - proving that he did, have the pace to run inside the top-five after a mistake from Jalek Swoll enabled him to inherit another position! Once into fifth, he defended the second charge of sort from the native Floridian in the latter stages...proving Martin's tenacity while competing against younger opponents, all the while returning from injury aboard the ClubMX Yamaha. Ultimately residing in fifth as the final lap concluded, Martin's solid result in Alabama would undoubtedly provide a surge of momentum that will be sustained for rounds to come.
