After flourishing through practice where he was running a paralleled pace to Jett Lawrence, Jason Anderson's success at this venue in year's past seemed to rejuvenate another prominent showing as laps progressed in moto one. He quickly made his way past Phil Nicoletti, and contended for a podium position after Jett Lawrence crashed to the ground...and as minutes would go by, Anderson seemed rather comfortable in an adopted flow that equated to the second-place position. He was maintaining the runner-up accolade while attempting to track down Hunter Lawrence, who led. And as he excelled with a solid output of momentum, Anderson seemed to occupy the aforementioned position with confidence...until Chase Sexton's arrival near his rear wheel, would force Anderson into a wash-out of sorts. Atop one the many hills, where the track would switchback in a left and right-handed manner, Anderson's crash would enable Chase Sexton to get around. He remained third, however, and would reside here through the conclusion of the seventeenth lap (i.e. checkered flag) - finishing ahead of Justin Cooper and Aaron Plessinger, before creating a new game-plan for the second portion of the two-motor sequences. He then began the second moto around the top-five, where he and Jett Lawrence would battle for fourth, after inheriting a position due to Phil Nicoletti's crash. But (Jett) Lawrence possessed enough speed initially, to push ahead of the Kawasaki rider...forcing him to reside fifth as the athlete aboard the number one machine began to fade. He simultaneously would pass a deterring Jett Lawrence, while also being overtaken by Chase Sexton with just over seven minutes left on the clock - resulting in a fifth-place standing being garnered when passing by the finish line jump. But Anderson's stamina seemed more than adequate, in regard to hovering within the top-five - and he would even attempt to make a final charge of sorts, toward the rear wheel of Hunter Lawrence when they closed-in on the checkered flag. With Jett (whom had slowed in speed due to injury) now quite a ways behind him, Anderson knew if he could stay upright, a fifth place in the moto could be garnered. Therefore as fans cheered him on through the final lap, the New Mexico native stayed mistake free - accelerating over the final jump, to acquire fifth in the moto, and fifth overall as well, with a box score of (3-5).
