Hoping to garner a sense of rejuvenation amongst the 450cc SX Championship, Jason Anderson's swagger when rolling into the Philadelphia stadium was hard to rival. His confidence translated to practice, where he slashed through the powder berms that had been presented around the raceway, blasting through them with his wheel set while always striving for higher speeds. That memo was sustained, into his heat race as well...where the Kawasaki rider would conduct a brilliant hole-shot maneuver to lead the field around in the divisional round. Though he was pressured from Hunter Lawrence, Anderson refuted the bid(s) of the Australian rider as he strove to move forward. Thrashing the suspension as he dashed through the whoops, Anderson's prowess on the Philadelphia circuit couldn't be denied. And with both Hunter Lawrence and Dylan Ferrandis trying to overtake him, Anderson's residency at the front of the field was certainly worthy of applause as all came to an eventual concision. Taking a notable heat race victory, Anderson was then on his way to the main event with a surge of confidence. The number twenty-one then assembled a standing inside the top-five, and immediately battled with Chase Sexton to begin the main event, his standing of fourth, was eventually erased by the Illinois native as the KTM rider passed him. Now fifth, he zeroed-in on Eli Tomac...conducting stellar momentum through the sand, which enabled him to pass Tomac with around three minutes left on the clock. His brilliant triple-in maneuver (into the aforementioned sand section) was a key component in nullifying the gap of he and Cooper Webb, who resided second...that is, until the final corner! When all seemed to be done, it was Anderson who charged to the outside and briefly collided with the Yamaha rider in the concluding left-handed bend...sending Webb to the ground, after a valiant charge through the whoops! It was Anderson's grit, and determination when fatigue began to set-in for Webb, that was the final component to ultimately aid him in passing by. As previously stated, with Cooper now on the ground, Anderson's route to the top of the checkered flag jump, couldn't be thwarted...and had him residing in the third place position upon heading to the podium! It was evident that Anderson was stoked to be atop the box once again, and proved, that his talent had been retained from the initial stages of the season!
