Possessing as much talent as anyone in the 450cc field, Kawasaki's Jason Anderson flourished within qualification rounds of Saturday afternoon's event. He was superb through the muddy conditions, and brought a top-tier intensity to the line for heat number two of the night show that was hard for opponents to dismiss. Beginning the moto in seventh, he had moved into fifth in the laps thereafter while doing his best to move around Benny bloss. But in the meantime, a crucial mistake was displayed on behalf of the veteran (i.e. Anderson) which diverted him to seventh, behind Justin Cooper. The process of overtaking Bloss, Cooper, and Malcolm Stewart was difficult; and as he toggled between leaping and skimming combinations in the whoop section, Anderson climbed atop the wall jump thereafter with a means of putting as much power to the ground as possible. Flying down the straightaway that was next to be tackled, he would use his strength to lessen the raising of the front-end before diving into the corner that followed...which was taxing to the stamina reservoir, but a technique that had to be put forth as a means of acceleration. Racing to the finish line in the eventual, aforementioned position, it wasn't necessarily what was desired but it proved that Jason could contend if the circumstances were both clear and optimal. His infiltration of third-place in the early going of the main event after getting around Adam Cianciarulo was incredible, and as Anderson attempted to keep Cooper Webb at bay (despite eventually losing the position to the Yamaha rider), he would latch onto the North Carolina native with the utmost intensity. Landing from the finish line double, Anderson's navigation through the demanding rutted canvas was a means of distancing himself (initially) from Justin Barcia who then trailed...but Jett Lawrence was approaching quickly. He (Anderson) ducked into various inside lines with a full-throttle/rapid clutch release, which propelled his Kawasaki into the sections that followed with extreme velocities! Despite Lawrence then getting around, Anderson did his best to maintain a flow amongst the ever-changing racing landscape...including riders constantly trying to move around him. Though eventually passed by Justin Barcia, Justin Cooper, Eli Tomac, and Aaron Plessinger, Anderson never gave up. He continued to put forth an admirable effort for the fans and sponsors in attendance, which equated to tenth overall as the final flag was thrown.
