JASON ANDERSON - GRIT 238 450SX

JASON ANDERSON | GRIT-238 | 450 SX

Overcoming the bit of controversy that surrounded his brilliant performance last week in San Diego, Jason Anderson appeared ready for whatever battle was ahead after flying into the top three for practice sessions. The number twenty-one appeared in-tune with his chassis, piecing together lines with fluidity despite the course constantly deteriorating...and amongst the whoop sections, Anderson was legitimate threat to be one of the fastest, regardless of skimming or jumping combinations. As the laps for the opening main event were then on the horizon, Anderson clicked into gear and combatted the opposition in the earliest of moments racing to an initial standing of third while defending the podium position from Ken Roczen. He and the Suzuki athlete would go back and forth, with Anderson conducting a gigantic quadruple sequence in the section before the finish line! Though nearly overshooting the final combination, he was still able to stay within a respectable distance of Roczen as the pass had been made. Now with Eli Tomac approaching as the field went through the halfway point, Anderson knew that he must continue focusing on the path ahead...and as Roczen crossed the finish line (for third), so too would Anderson accompany him, just behind by a slight margin for fourth at the checkered flag. Jason's aspirations for the lead were on the cusp of his reach as he entered into the opening whoop section on the racecourse, battling for second alongside Aaron Plessinger as Cooper Webb led. Nailing the huge quad on the opening lap, he was quarreling with Cooper...until the second lap was near completion when the fire inside of Anderson couldn't be extinguished. A brilliant sweep to the inside of the start straightaway allowed Anderson to move forward - cementing the pass on Webb with again, the brilliant triple-quad sequence before the finish line. From that point onward, Anderson stretched his lead to well over five-seconds...seemingly on cruise control as the pack quarreled amongst one another, and as the checkered flag waved, it was Jason who made the definitive statement. Though crashing on the first lap of the main event (after sliding to the outside in the rolling left-hander), Anderson's initial position (from that point forward, which was nearly last) was quickly erased while progressively making passes. Somehow working his way into the top ten, he would make moves on the likes of Malcolm Stewart and Dylan Ferrandis, after charging forward with a ferocious intent while conducting huge rhythm combinations. Though penalized one position for an unspecified incident at the time, Anderson still rebounded to score an eventual eighth place at the final flag - garnering fourth overall, and once again proving that he was well within the hunt for an overall championship.
