JASON ANDERSON GRIT-227 450MX

JASON ANDERSON | GRIT-227 | 450MX

The amount of determination and drive that Kawasaki's Jason Anderson possessed, would be incredible as he rolled onto the Spring Creek MX circuit for practice on Saturday. The former Supercross champion had been sensational in year's past, and after accruing a multitude of injuries in SX (this year) he would return to action for the previous two rounds of racing in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship - establishing a slight base of fitness, prior to embarking on the first moto of action in Millville. But by all means, would the Kawasaki rider appear to possess adequate stamina as he charged for forward from an initial standing of fifth, and actually passed both (Adam Cianciarulo and Aaron Plessinger) on lap seven! Anderson's loose style through the rollers would translate to a synchronization of the shock and rear wheel, which actually advanced his lap-times as the track became rougher. He would look to his mechanic for an indication of where he stood, in regard to how close the moto was to expiration...and though the number twenty-one was a bit out of reach from both Honda riders (i.e. Jett Lawrence and Chase Sexton), he would continue to charge. His pace remained elevated in the final two laps of action, sweeping through the finish-line area and down the largest of hills (including Mt. Martin) with the Kawasaki revved as if it were a 250F engine! His courageousness amongst the array of elevation changes had undoubtedly led him to a final residency of third, which was grasped when rounding the final right-handed corner, and over the finish-line tabletop before exiting the raceway. He then looked to rehydrate and refuel as much as possible before embarking on the second trek...but after fighting for the hard-fought third-place result in moto-one, Kawasaki's Jason Anderson would have to overcome an immediate crash to begin the second moto. It seemed as if Anderson could generate the strength to rekindle as many positions as possible, but the incident between he and Henry Miller (where they both crashed in the initial roller section) was ultimately too much for Anderson to overcome...and he would then be forced to exit the raceway with a final moto score of thirty-eighth. However, when paired with his initial performance (of third), his overall points accumulation would equate to twenty...giving him an overall result of tenth, where he now looks to return to one-hundred percent strength as soon as possible.
