Triumph's Jalek Swoll once again proved, that both he and his machine were as talented as any in the field. The rider out of Florida excelled as practice began on Saturday, where he displayed incredible versatility amongst the muddy conditions. With the track heavily watered (due to the sweltering heat), Swoll knew that the track would change throughout the course of the day...yet still proceeded to burst forward with fearlessness, while transferring into moto-one therafter. Once shifting into gear, the athlete aboard the number thirty-three machine leapt to an eleventh place standing when scrubbing his way past the green flag. Through the switchback sections thereafter, Swoll was rather agile and had ways of remaining smooth among the countless ruts that were trenched through the corners. The ruts were already beginning to develop a rather hard base, and acceleration bumps on the exits of various bends were becoming rather pointed and sharp...causing many riders outside of the top-twenty to become off-balanced when embarking on the straightaways thereafter. However, Swoll seemed a step or two ahead of most of the competition - predicting where the largest pot-holes were set to emerge, all the while dodging roost from Pierce Brown, who he encountered later on in the moto. Once seemingly attached to the rear wheel of the GasGas rider, his speed was enough to defend his position on the racetrack from that of Chance Hymas, Jordon Smith, teammate Joey Savatgy, and the hometown hero, Levi Kitchen! It was an incredible display of resiliency as he jumped through the whoops on the final circuit, eventually taking the checkered flag in a position of seventh, as he exited the raceway. He appeared fresh and ready to charge to the front of the pack as the following moto came to fruition...and immediately surged to a notable fourth-place standing as the green flag waved. Though being overtaken by opponents such as Jo Shimoda and Levi Kitchen (whom he'd nearly collide with at one point) the courage of Swoll remained paramount, and was a significant tool within his arsenal of tricks, when flying to the twenty-minute mark of the contest. Around that time, he and teammate Joey Savatgy would mirror one another in regard to pace, and put forth a final charge of sorts to the finish line. This gave Swoll the needed momentum to try and overtake Ryder DiFrancesco...though the Californian was riding extremely well on his own behalf. Though while also losing one final position to Julien Beaumer when nearing the finish line, Swoll remained calm amongst the chaos to leap through the concluding whoop section with a standing of ninth being solidified - for eighth overall, respectively.
