JALEK SWOLL | GRIT-230 | 250MX
Jalek Swoll's return to action in the Northeast would be spectacular, as the number thirty-eight had been returning from injuries, in week's past. The former outdoor national winner was adamant in his quest to show the industry that he still possessed elite skill and speed on the motorcycle. And by all means, would he do so competition commenced in the first moto of the afternoon. Roost from dozen's of bikes around him would make for an absolute mess in regards to hampered vision, however Swoll was able to secure a sixth-place residency when flying over the finish-line tabletop on lap number-one. And upon charging into the multitude of ant-hills thereafter, he could recognize the Yamaha engine of Justin Cooper attempting to close the distance rather quickly. But Swoll's line of defense was admirable, where he wasn't going to led the championship contender simply pass by him without hesitation - and the number thirty-eight would ride a rather wide motorcycle, when swaying from inside to outside in the tightest of sections. Though Cooper was able to move forward on the fifth-lap, Swoll would return with passing attempts of his own near Henry Hill; where the number thirty-eight almost sped alongside the New York native once more! His momentum was tangible and certainly on the rise, until the red flag was thrown...when Swoll would actually take advantage of the restart, to a greater extent than anyone else in the field - via taking the first-place designation, and leading all in the field around for three laps! It would be on the twelfth-circuit though, where the cluster of three (i.e. he, Justin Cooper, and Hunter Lawrence) after having broken away from the rest of the pack, would begin to shuffle...and Cooper was able to finalize a definitive pass in the switchback "S-curve" section, while Lawrence would simultaneously pass Swoll amid the "Henry Hill section." This would cause Swoll to descend to third, but the number thirty-eight would reside there as the checkered flag waved! For moto-two, a troublesome first lap would have him in twenty-second, but the aspirations of Swoll couldn't be nullified as he had charged to sixteenth by lap six. With riders like Levi Kitchen, and Daxton Bennick just ahead, Swoll would slide amongst the hard-pack inside(s) with a subtle feathering of the clutch to gain traction - shortening his distance, while keeping his RPM's at a maximum. Instances like these would allow him to follow the Yamaha tandem to the finish-line as they carved through the pack, where at the conclusion of the seventeen-lap contest, Swoll's final residency (of tweflth) would equate to a sixth-place overall, respectively.
