The confidence of Hunter Lawrence flourished as competition began in Denver, where an array of incredible lap-times in qualification sent him into the night show with a surge of self-belief and undeniable swagger. This translated to his reaction time in the opening heat race, where a swift clutch release and precise shifting points led him to the pinnacle of the field, residing in front of Cooper Webb. Though after a lap of competition, Webb capitalized in a few areas of racetrack where Lawrence seemed to lack a bit of speed - and the amplifying of miscue(s) enabled Webb to work his way by before the second circuit was completed. Once into the runner-up position, Lawrence couldn't be rattled by any opponent in the field. He was thorough with his line choice, and remained smooth despite the soil constantly deteriorating beneath his wheel-set. And at the conclusion of the eight-lap contest, as he rounded the final left-handed corner and forthcoming single, he crested the finish line jump in a second place residency - behind Cooper Webb and ahead of Husqvarna's Malcolm Stewart, to earn a notable gate choice for the finalé. Upon rolling to the launchpad, it was easy to identify that the number ninety-six machine was ready to take matters to the next level...And as a result, he conducted a brilliant start to the main event - residing at the pinnacle of the field with his brother in second! He appeared composed, and welcoming to the moment while the reality of winning a finalé was upon him! Hunter was steady in the lead, until nearing the halfway point...when Jason Anderson seemed to cause his brother (Jett) to display more urgency as he resided in the second place spot. The advancement by Anderson was a catalyst for Jett to move by, which occurred just under the ten minute mark, in the corner before the Supercross triple. Now second, he was aware of how close Anderson had come...continuing to engage in speed(s) that were among the best of anyone in the field. Minute by minute, he held strong against the Kawasaki rider. Which led to the final sequences of the Moto, where Lawrence flew across the final double not long behind his teammate Jett - creating a one-two performance, for the brotherly tandem out of Australia...which was certain, to go down in the record books!
