HUNTER LAWRENCE GRIT-225 250MX
July 3, 2023 · Hunter Lawrence

HUNTER LAWRENCE | GRIT-225 | 250MX
The day in Michigan would begin extremely well for Honda's Hunter Lawrence, where the red-plate holder would obtain a qualification position of third prior to beginning the opening moto of the afternoon. The crowd in Buchanan was electric, and Lawrence would rise to the occasion once again as the 250cc class blasted forward from the starting grid. His clutch release and shifting points were immaculate, leading to a multiple bike length lead as he took the hole-shot designation in stride. Lawrence was then hard to reel-in after the first lap, where Haiden Deegan was trying his best to keep the Honda rider with a reasonable distance. But Lawrence's veteran aptitude and demeanor in the class was next level, where the Australian flowed through every corner on the track with precision and tranquility. There wasn't a bump or rut that would throw him off path, as the Honda athlete maintained composure when surging past the halfway point - maintaining a calm mindset when beginning to encounter lap traffic. Circuit by circuit, the number ninety-six would sustain a gap that neared and eventually crested ten-seconds as the checkered flag appeared in the distance. And as he calmly bounced through the rollers on his last run to the checkered flag, it would be Hunter Lawrence who nodded to the crowd with confidence as he crossed the line with victory! In the moments thereafter, he would return to the Honda semi to recover and prepare for round two of racing, for the 250cc division. And as he rolled to the gate not long thereafter, it was business as usual for the eldest Lawrence brother...however, disaster would strike amid the first corner of racing action! There would be a clashing of handlebars which caused Hunter to be amongst multiple others, flying to the corner below and off of his motorcycle! Lawrence would lay there for quite sometime unfortunately, with the medical staff rushing to his side to make sure there were no serious injuries. And after thorough examination, it would be deemed that Lawrence evaded a season-ending mishap; which was exactly what the industry and enthusiasts of the sport wanted, as the Honda rider had been on an absolute tear throughout the 2023 season thus far. Hopefully with rest and recovery, the red-plate holder (who is still in the lead for the 250cc championship) will be able to return quickly...battling for countless victories, from the next round, to the finalé!
