HUNTER LAWRENCE | GRIT-218 | SX 250

Knowing what was at stake with the championship within his grasp, the number ninety-six of Hunter Lawrence would be toggling a multitude of racing processes while stationed in Nashville, Tennessee. Believing that he could continue his winning ways and climb to the top of the podium, he also knew that a solid finish (and not necessarily victory) would clench his title run with ease…therefore many assumed his practice efforts were to be rather conservative. But Lawrence would exemplify anything but that, as he sped to the top of the leaderboard with confidence prior to embarking on heat two alongside the names of Jo Shimoda, Max Anstie, and Jeremy Martin. Leaping from the grate with the utmost intensity, Lawrence would round the first corner while battling for the lead with Max Anstie; though the native of Britain was aggressive in his clenching of the lead, and would keep Hunter at bay for almost a full lap, until Lawrence was able to take advantage of Anstie drifting wide in the corner after the whoop section. Slipping beneath the chassis of Max, Lawrence proceeded to sprint forward with all of his might in hopes of establishing a remarkable gap over the rest of the field. He was gathering knowledge and data while showcasing his skills to the Tennessee crowd, attacking the whoops with superb style and maneuvering his chassis with spectacularity while charging toward the checkered flag. Ultimately claiming victory, his efforts were then directed to the main event where he and Jordon Smith feuded around the first corner (for an early lead). He (Lawrence) seemed to have a slight margin on the far left of the rhythm lane, but Jordon's momentum couldn't be thwarted when the Yamaha slid to the inside in the corner before the dragon's back, taking the lead with exclamation and forcing Hunter to second! Hunter was in a bit of a conundrum at this point though; as he didn't necessarily have to claim victory in order to win the 250cc East Coast Championship at round fifteen…but his competitive spirit couldn't be ignored. Hunter then proceeded to carry sensational speed through the first third of the moto, remaining zeroed-in on Smith if a mistake were to arise…which was exactly the twist in the main event narrative that fell in his favor! Jordon would slide off of the track at the end of the sand section before the sixth circuit was completed, seemingly handing the lead to Hunter all the while! Now at the pinnacle of the field, the number ninety-six would display phenomenal composure and fluidity; never once getting "out of shape" or allowing an error of any sort to arise. Lawrence would then storm through the final laps with ever-growing excitement, nodding to his mechanic when he passed the mechanic's area in the final moments. And at that point, it was his destiny to claim the championship! Accomplishing one of the greatest feats in all of this racing genre, with victory in Nashville!
