HUNTER LAWRENCE | GRIT-210 | SX 250

Battling for the 250cc East Coast Championship, Hunter Lawrence understood how valuable points would be while racing inside AT&T Stadium. With the track being rather tight and the competition as fierce as ever, the Honda athlete understood that an efficient game-plan was crucial if he wanted to walk away with an overall podium. By all means, would his practice episodes be executed in a superb manner; which led to an astounding gate choice being accrued for moto one, where an immaculate hole-shot was presented for all to see. Leaping onto the tabletop just thereafter with the lead in hand, Lawrence was peculiar about his line-selection from that moment, forward; hitting his marks with zero mistakes and heightening his lead through every passing lap. The first quarter and first half of the moto would be flawlessly completed, which turned into the third quarter and conclusion of the moto following the same pattern. Ultimately leading all fourteen laps in the process, there was little critique on behalf of the Australian's performance! Moto-two was shortly thereafter, and Hunter's starting position (near fourth) would be advantageous and optimal to work from in the moments that followed. However Nate Thrasher would burst to the inside (with just under ten minutes remaining) as they entered into the corner after the "SX" triple; pushing Lawrence to the outside after a slight collision, which deterred the Honda rider from moving forward. Hunter would return to the rear wheel of Thrasher not long thereafter, and remained imminent on making the move as laps continued to transpire. However, the race was nearing an end and implications were becoming urgent if Hunter wanted to secure a runner-up designation. Therefore with less than two-minutes remaining, the number ninety-six would nearly replicate the collision-based pass that was just after the whoop-section, on Thrasher! They both stayed upright (with the Yamaha rider in front), until a near-horrific collision would occur over the tunnel jump! Thrasher would somehow cut to the inside while Lawrence traveled on a narrowed trajectory to begin...resulting in the two lines coming together and Hunter crashing to the ground at the base of the landing! Somehow unscathed, he rebounded in third (with quite the margin over Max Anstie in fourth) and remained here until the final flag was thrown. The overall victory had now come down to this imminent third moto. Disaster would strike immediately though, as Hunter Lawrence's front-end would tuck in turn number one and he and Max Anstie would be piled atop one another! Stuck underneath the motorcycles, Lawrence's visor would be gone after returning to racing action. It was then, a race against the clock with Hunter passing riders in bundles while dashing to the checkered flag. And though carnage would ensue with the other members of the podium, Lawrence's distance (from the race lead) was too much to overcome; and as he was finalized in sixth, he would salvage the night with a notable overall score of third.
