Despite the action being extremely intense for the seventh round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship Estonia's Harri Kullas appeared ready to combat whatever was thrown his way. The track was prepped to an immaculate level in practice, and he excelled as he sped through corners with extremely high RPM's. His confidence was apparent, and as he shifted into gear for the opening moto, he vowed to push forward with one-hundred percent as the green flag waved. Kullas would gather a standing of twelfth upon cresting the finish line jump, looking to mimic the pace of opponents like Cullin Park and Malcolm Stewart. He would do so, flying through the various corners and rollers that littered the raceway with his KTM engine revved to the highest extent. He and Freddie Noren would then undergo a strenuous battle, with both European riders giving it their all en route to the halfway point. Once entering into the eleventh circuit though, it was Kullas who had surpassed the number twenty-two machine - and he then proceeded to storm through the various valleys with abundant throttle twisting, never losing sight of earning faster lap-times on this rugged course. He would then pass Romain Pape, with Phil Nicoletti the next to be approached. But Nicoletti's prowess, experience, and wit on this Millville circuit were traits that couldn't be toppled - leaving Kullas in the twelfth-place position as he neared the checkered flag. Upon surging from the top of the final hill on the Spring Creek circuit, it was Kullas who gathered an admirable standing of tenth, before exiting the raceway. With rain on the horizon, the Estonian knew that outside elements could, come into play as gate(s) fell for moto two. However his plethora of experience flourished, even as the course remained dry - earning an eleventh-place residency for the latter race narrative, as it unraveled. He had moved to as high as tenth, in the laps thereafter, but would be overtaken by Freddie Noren when again, nearing the halfway point for this occasion. He, Kyle Chisholm, and Derek Kelley appeared to be on a similar path to the moto's conclusion - and Kullas eventually made his way around the Floridian (i.e. Chisholm) when zeroing-in on the final stages of the race. Marshal Weltin would trail his (Kullas') rear wheel as engines ceased, but the defense of the KTM rider was top-tier en route to capturing a final twelfth place standing, which translated to a phenomenal ninth-place overall!
