HARRI KULLAS - GRIT 231 450MX

HARRI KULLAS | GRIT-231 | 450MX

With new racers continuing to emerge within the 450MX division, the talent level to conclude the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross Championship was certainly on the rise...leaving the fans in immense anticipation prior to practice beginning on Saturday. And Estonia's Harri Kullaswas an athlete that many in the crowd would focus on throughout time-trials, where the precision of the Europeanresident was immaculate given how rough the track was already becoming. Flowing through the finish-line section with a style that epitomized both, smoothness and a hard-charging demeanor, there was little to critique as he transferred into the main event(s) thereafter. For moto-one, the Yamaha rider would begin his trek to the finish-line within the top-seven while seeking to run an identical pace amongst the leaders, to the best of his ability. The treacherous uphill and downhill section that consisted of two, monstrous tabletops would be a place where he could (somehow) relax and regather his breathing amongst the first ten minutes of action. Many within his supporting cast would monitor his time(s) amongst the registry and electronic log that would constantly changes amongst television and computer screens..reiterating that he must continue on his current charge, otherwise Canada's Jess Pettiswould approach him with around twelve minutes to go. Yet as you may have guessed, the former MXGP competitor again engaged in a steadfast charge to the finish-line amongst the ever-changing circuit; with his shock and fork combination ricocheting with chatter before the finish-line, with the straightaway becoming heavily whooped out by the time the thirty-minute marker had come to fruition! Depicting a significant stance of longevity amongst the demanding moto-one tenure, he would secure ninthin the running order before moving on, to the second round of action. Following the gate-drop in the latter afternoon sequence, it was an all-out battle amongst those in the 450MX division while many sought points for the SMX playoff's in the coming months. Therefore, as many expected, bar-banging and shroud scraping would be displayed on behalf of both factory riders and privateers alike; including Kullas as they made their way through the initial moments of competitive action. However, a troublesome first-lap sequence would unfortunately be undertaken by the native Estonian, forcing him into a standing of twenty-ninth, as the first full lap was completed. But the foreign competitor would never give up, and focus as hard as possible when entering into various facets of the raceway. The wall jump after the finish-line had been carved with what looked like a comb of sorts (but in all actuality, was just countless established trenches) and as he scrubbed time and time again, he had to be mindful of not catching a foot-peg before subsequently being thrown into an endo. The awareness that the Yamahacompetitor had as conditions continued to dry would be remarkable though, rolling on the throttle in the corner after the largest infield tabletop, after well over a dozen laps had transpired...even with Grant Harlanpursuing him! The race for twelfthin the running order would ultimately be captured by Kullas though, after overtaking Shane McElrath in the final seconds of the showcase which equated to a tremendous score of tenth overall in the overall point standings of the Ironman National.
