HARDY MUNOZ | GRIT-208 | 250SX
Hardy Munoz was determined following the first round of the East Coast championship to walk away from Tampa feeling as though he'd given it his all. His motivation was unparalleled and was a catalyst amid his training regimen in the days prior to this event beginning. Watching from afar, he was curious to see how the track would form following rain in the forecast for this portion of Florida. However, with diligence, the course would come around for the night show; following an eleventh-place registry being scribed for his overall practice time. Armed and prepared for a ruthless duel amongst various members of the 250cc division, he then plunged into the first corner of his heat race with a handful of throttle. He was relentless in the right-handers that preceded the sand section, sliding to the inside and diverting opponents to his left with a subtle drift of his chassis. Clutching and revving his Husqvarna 250F on the backside of singles would cause a flurry of soil particles to be sprayed into the vicinity of Devin Simonson who seemed to determined to retaliate on laps three and four. But his (Munoz)'s knowledge was second-to-none, and knew that with the adverse conditions that staying within the main line would cause his opponent to divert from lines that were best. He would hold through the white-flag circuit and look to the finish-line for the races conclusion, conquering the step-on/step-off before hand and be registered tenth as action came to a close. Therefore, he would have to travel to the LCQ to make an advancement toward the main event, and with an astounding victory being garnered, he was on his way to the finalé with confidence. Once here, his dash to the sand section (on the first lap) would be crucial if he wanted to be paralleled with the top-ten in the class. Light on the front-brake as he front tire sped through moisture-ridden areas, he would begin to click off laps while near the thirteenth position. Steady and consistently, his output would be noteworthy; adjusting his effort based on the lap-times his mechanic would scribe on the pit-board each time he bypassed the mechanic's area. It would then be a quarrel amongst he, Coty Schock, and Caden Braswell for tenth position as the final quarter of the moto came to fruition. These riders seemed unbreakable, with the slightest margins separating them with the timer dwindling to under three-minutes of action. Avoiding yellow flags as the one-lap indicator was thrown, he would lunge toward the finish-line with his engine red-lining; accomplishing an admirable feat of tenth overall, as racing ended.
