Seeking to rebound from his performance last week in Michigan, Yamaha's Haiden Deegan charged onto the track in Minnesota with unwavering determination. The number thirty-eight was flowing throughout the surplus of sand that had been added to the track, and proceeded to blast through the deepest sections, with disregard for lines that had previously been formed. His fearlessness carried into the first moto, where the pack surged around the opening corner, and the Californian acquired the initial lead over the rest of the pack. He was storming through the Millville facility, and had built quite the gap against the rest of his opponents...until a wash-out, just before the finish-line, would deter him from the lead - slightly before the ten-minute mark had surpassed! Now third, behind Levi Kitchen and Tom Vialle, he would then have to contend with Jo Shimoda...who would pass him amid the roller section, as sixteen minutes had passed! He was fourth at that point, and remained here until less than two laps remained! He then would undergo an incredible battle between he and Jo Shimoda, where both athletes went back and forth (while battling for third), just before the white flag! And then, within the mechanic's area section immediately thereafter, Deegan was able to conquer Jo's reign, once and for all...claiming third when nearing the checkered flag. His start to the second moto was disastrous, however, after a first-turn pile-up (amongst the mud) would nearly force him to last place when beginning the first lap! He wouldn't quit however, and immediately proceeded to infiltrate the top-thirty, twenty-five, and so on...to the point, that he had obtained a tenth-place standing after ten minutes of competition! The crowd couldn't believe it, and Deegan was flourishing despite adverse circumstances! He then would make passes on opponents like Julien Beaumer, Joey Savatgy, and Daxton Bennick...before looking ahead to Dilan Schwartz, who was in the top-five. He disregarded the muddy conditions, and insisted on hitting the berms and ruts of the course, with as much power as possible! Ultimately passing the Suzuki rider, along with GasGas' Ryder DiFrancesco in the final stages, Deegan's remarkable final moto run (for fourth) was enough to claim second overall in the overall standings...retaining the points lead, and once again proving, that he could thrive when faced with adversity in the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship!
