Thousands of fans in attendance would cheer for Yamaha's Haiden Deegan as he accelerated around the circuit on Saturday. The expectations for the California native were high, but time and time again, the athlete aboard the number thirty-eight machine would put forth an astounding effort in order to garner the fastest of laps in practice. This translated into moto-one thereafter, where the red-plate holder swept through the opening corners and appeared to occupy a standing near fourth place. He quickly inherited a position though, after Tom Vialle had fallen - and overtook the third-place residency. It was then a process of chipping away, at the opponents ahead...and Deegan's tenacity would lead to him hounding the rear wheel of the Honda rider (i.e. Chance Hymas) with just over twenty-three minutes of action transpiring. His (Deegan's) line through the rollers, at that point, was sensational - sweeping to the outside of Hymas, overtaking second, and never looking back! An incredible charge was then put forth by the Yamaha rider...surging to the rear wheel of Ty Masterpool in the closing moments of the moto. Deegan was sweeping from inside to outside, and every line in between - which made for a dramatic charge, through the rollers on the final circuit! Literally paralleled in speed, it was an all out dash to the final switchback, where Deegan would nearly make the move! Though just short when crossing the finish line, the battle was far from over in regard to the overall...where Deegan claimed second for this moto, while exiting the track with enthusiasm. His start to the second moto, was roughly around the thirteenth-place position. He quickly moved into the top-ten, and was exerting immense energy when trying to fight for ninth place - which occurred among he, Tom Vialle, and Daxton Bennick. Once into eighth, he and Vialle continued their battle...until a brief stalling of the motor would occur in the concluding corner of the Pro Section, which forced Deegan into ninth. He then passed Daxton Bennick once and for all, attempting to track-down Jalek Swoll yet again while powering past the halfway point. The Triumph rider was then surpassed in the Pro Section with less than ten minutes remaining on the clock, and Deegan's determination looked to be more powerful than ever! Ryder DiFrancesco was next to be overtaken just before the twenty-three minute mark, immediately after the ski jump, to claim sixth...but with around two and a-half minutes left on the clock, an unbelievable crash would occur. It was on the tabletop that concluded the Pro Section, where a lapped rider had endo'd and nearly claimed Tom Vialle...and Haiden Deegan would have nowhere to go upon cresting the jump, landing on the opposing bike, and flying over the handlebars! He somehow remounted the motorcycle with unbelievable urgency, never losing a position (remaining sixth), which was somehow held through the finish line - earning fifth overall, to conclude the sixth round of the championship and salvage countless points!
