HAIDEN DEEGAN - GRIT 249 250SX

GRIT-249 | 250 SX

Hoping to maximize his performance in Philadelphia to garner as many points as possible, Yamaha's Haiden Deegan was determined to make the most of his residency in the state of Pennsylvania as action began on Saturday. He demolished the track throughout practice with bold lines over substantial gaps, tripling his way into the sand and over singles, as others would double and roll, respectively. His prowess appeared to be at an all-time high, which made the initiation to heat one, that much more exciting. Clicking into gear, Deegan would burst from the line while constantly shifting through the transmission, garnering second to that of Kawasaki's Seth Hammaker in the early stages. Hammaker was being encouraged by his home-town crowd, but Deegan was there to stop the charge that was put forth by the number forty-three as they sped through the halfway point. Minute by minute, both athletes were locked-into a substantial battle that was becoming rather condensed in the final stages...and as the eighth lap came to fruition, there wasn't much separation between their machines! They nearly would come together on the final circuit, almost colliding over the latter "SX" triple as a result! But luckily, both remained upright...and he would trail Hammaker to the finish line to obtain the runner-up accolade. His start to the main event was less than desired, and Deegan's initial standing (of around twelfth) would be difficult to work from. However, Tom Vialle was somehow relatively close to him...making quite the narrative as they had to storm through the pack, beside one another! The Yamaha rider then found his way to the rear wheel of the KTM pilot, with just over two minutes of competition completed as they resided ninth, and tenth, in the running order. He matched Vialle's pace, seemingly in every facet as they weaved through the field. Declaring that he was willing to do whatever it took, in order to reach for the championship. But as riders began to make mistakes, the process of staying attached to the KTM of the Frenchman became a bit more difficult. As the narrative appeared to reach the checkered flag, Pierce Brown would undergo a devastating crash on his GasGas machine over the finish line jump. This, coupled with the collision via Seth Hammaker and Jalek Swoll (which also, resulted in a furthered position for the Yamaha rider) enabled him to be categorized in third with only a little time remaining! His attempt at overtaking Vialle was valiant. With a run through the inside, of the very final corner, being a portrayal of his efforts. However, Haiden was forced to reside third as all concluded...granting a few more points to Tom Vialle, as the series nears completion.
