HAIDEN DEEGAN | GRIT-211 | SX 250
The former amateur phenom, Haiden Deegan, would prove his supporters right by moving into the professional ranks full-time just weeks ago. Since stepping forward, Deegan has been a mainstay at the top of the leaderboard, stockpiling top-tier finishes while displaying the utmost consistency. However undoubtedly his toughest test to date would be that of the Daytona Supercross; where SX and motocross formats combined, to create an absolute beast of a layout that had to be conquered. For practice, he showcased fearlessness while leaping through the longest of rhythm sections. Contemplating exhibiting multiple "quad" combinations, his overall output of velocity would eventually have him arriving in eighth before entering into the night show. Bursting to a start that was nearly equated to a top-five, he would methodically move his way forward as his opponents demonstrated mistakes. Battling alongside Michael Mosiman, both would advance position(s) as Deegan was into fourth by lap three. Residing there for another circuit, Mosiman's missed opportunities of the most pristine lines would have the rookie (Deegan) pushing past the GasGas rider as they neared the white flag. Cemented in third at that point, Tom Vialle was racing forward in the distance but the Californian wouldn't have enough time to make a final push of sorts. Finalized in third, Deegan's confidence would soar prior to the main event quest beginning. The lights were at their brightest as the field then loaded the grid, with his Yamaha machine being upshifted to second gear as the thirty-second board went sideways. Diving into turn number one shortly thereafter, seventh place position would be gathered as the field scrubbed past the green flag. Landing with authority as he launched through the myriad of triples that followed, his timing and ability to land atop various tabletops (while recoiling with momentum) would be incredible; pushing his way into fifth by the second circuit! Overtaking Chris Blose not long thereafter, it was then Jeremy Martin who was next to be approached as the two quarreled over third. It would be on the third lap when Deegan's relentless will had the crowd cheering with excitement, as he out-charged Martin into the left-handed corner that initiated the sand section; forcing Jeremy into a mistake as he sped around the outside! Proving that he wasn't afraid of competitive feuds, Deegan's esteem would continuously rise in the laps that followed. Whipping and scrubbing every obstacle on the track, there was a flow that accompanied the number 238 that couldn't be forged. From there on out, Deegan would hit his marks with the utmost precision, running an incredible pace in third while shining amongst the spotlight at the world-center of racing! Claiming third as all was said and done, Haiden was expectedly ecstatic and ready for more finishes like this in the near future!
