GUILLEM FARRES - GRIT 239 250SX
May 18, 2024 · Guillem Farres

GRIT-239 | 250 SX
Though a veteran on various motocross circuits around the world, Husqvarna's Guillem Farres arguably had less experience on SX tracks than any other competitor in the class! The Husqvarna athlete from Spain still proceeded to blast onto the raceway in Detroit with fearlessness, enjoying every step of the process en route to his dream of becoming an American champion one day. Though beginning his heat race in tenth, Farres was swift his passes while staying calm amid the chaotic 250SX pack. He was into seventh by the third circuit while seeing the likes of Nick Romano just ahead of him. Skipping his way through the whoops on occasion, there were times where he would choose to hop rhythmically and maintain a bit of stamina/efficiency...knowing that the journey to the checkered flag was one of an extended duration. Floating through the sand via both inside and outside pathways, he would stay within a commendable distance of Romano as the checkered flag neared; with both of the previously noted competitors seeking to pass Henry Miller as well, who was occupying the fifth-place residency. Yet even with pressure from Gage Linville and Jalek Swoll who were behind, Farres constantly pursued forward movement en route to an eventual seventh-place designation as engines ceased. The main event was finally upon him, and after dodging the mass chaos that loomed in corner number one, Farres made his way to the green flag to obtain seventh, before making passes and earning a fifth-place residency by the lap three! Hopping amongst takeoff's and downsides with the rear wheel constantly spinning, he was always attempting to twist the throttle when leaping into various bowl turns - rounding the highest points in order to garner momentum to pull away from athletes like Marshal Weltin and Trevor Colip. As time continued to pass, Farres remained in-tune with what was going on; knowing that the bigger picture was to garner as many points as possible, before exiting Ford Field. As the 21st lap became closer, Farres could see that Chance Hymas' mistake (and the distance between he and the aforementioned Michigan native, Weltin) were enough catalysts to make the eighth place residency seem achievable! His vision was impeccable and he wasn't rattled when tripling through the start straightaway rhythm section while taking the white flag...and upon seat-hopping the final double on one last occasion, Farres would secure eighth in the record book!
