He would briefly gain a position due to Eli Tomac's mistake. but the Colorado native quickly re-gained the standing and forced Stewart into seventh once more. From there, Justin Cooper would also make his way past, forcing Malcolm into eighth. Though a multitude of chaotic battles ensued, with he and opponents including Dylan Ferrandis, Justin Cooper, Justin Barcia, and Jorge Prado (along with Cooper Webb) were just ahead!

It was as if they were all competing, with their front and rear wheels, nearly touching at times. Though with a series of mistakes by his opponents, Malcom accelerated ahead amongst the technical whoop sections with unbelievable speed. This helped him pass all of the aforementioned competitors, and secure the fourth-place standing with three laps to go! His fitness and ability to attack the racetrack was next level, and sustained through the checkered flag as others lessened their momentum...therefore, Malcolm collected fourth-place, as action concluded!
