race recap
GRIT 312 — 250SX — 6th — Lux Turner
May 2, 2026 · Lux Turner

The track would form exceptionally well, for practice in the mountainous region. Though known to be rather dry and loose, with top-soil seemingly disappearing in past season's instantly, the course (for this early May event) would contain moisture for a significant amount of time in qualifying. Lux Turner's tires would immediately sink into the canvas and begin to swoop through the berms as if there were a magnetic component between the surface and his chassis! While swinging from outside to inside in the corner before the "SX" triple, Turner's outlook for the forthcoming races was phenomenal. Thus, he would leap forward form the line with a bold twist of the throttle - accelerating to fifth, where he resided for five laps of competition. Though as the race progressed.
Turner knew he could capitalized on the lessened speed and mistakes of others. He could sense, that both.
Carson Mumford and Josh Varize were beginning to fade just a bit. And after estimating that he could make the move (ahead of both athletes) before the finish line, Turner would surge forward - passing both, Mumford and Varize, to reside in the third-place standing from the seventh lap through the ninth circuit, claiming the bronze at the checkered flag! For the finalé, Turner's leap from the line was phenomenal. He would trail Haiden Deegan while contending for the runner-up position alongside Max Anstie. Turner then occupied the second-place standing,
definitively, before being tracked-down by a few competitors.
Opponents including
Levi Kitchen,
Husqvarna's Ryder DiFrancesco, and Anstie, would all return at one point or another...to move forward (and ahead of Turner). Nevertheless, once residing in fifth, Lux would do his best to keep Kayden Minear at bay.
The rookie
was riding well, though he and Lux were on a similar trajectory. Lap by lap, Turner would fly over the "SX" triple with a sense of polish craft, that wasn't forced. His calculation through every aspect of the course, seemed steady and led to many mistake-free laps being put together. Though it was on lap fifteen, when Minear's speed couldn't be denied...and the athlete who sported the number ninety-nine across his machine, made his way past.
Thus, Lux had descended to sixth. However, with a resilient effort from that point onward, Turner sprinted to the finish-line and kept numerous talented athletes behind his rear wheel — resulting in a sixth-place overall feat, in The record book!
