GRIT 312 — 250SX — 10th — Max Vohland

The Yamaha athlete, would embody the idea of consistency with his scores thus far on the tour. Max Vohland. who had been resilient in his professional career, was seeking to end the 2026 season with a series of spectacular results...beginning with his performance in Denver. The track, though having a hard-packed base, was set to favor the smooth riding style of Vohland-and his comfort was easily identifiable when rolling onto the throttle (with relatively low RPM's) amid technical sections in qualifying. As the gate(s) had fallen for heat one of the program, Vohland would be amongst the front-runner's. He was just behind Hunter Yoder and Max Anstie, as the two would battle for the lead, only bike lengths ahead. Vohland took advantage of the perfectly prepped racecourse and accelerated while trying to grab as much traction as possible. Lap after lap, he would proceed to hound the two opponents who were leading the field around - without fading too far behind. His effort, in totality, was commendable, and when the final flag was thrown, Max would carve through the concluding right-handed bend and through the Monster Energy Finish Line, to claim third! In the finalé, Vohland's initiation to the contest, wasn't what was desired. A less than stellar opening lap would put him into the twenty-second place position! He knew that there wasn't any time that could be wasted, therefore, he immediately accelerated ahead and began to make passes. While weaving amongst the canvas (operating with immense calculation due to the hard-packed surface of the course), Vohland would make his way into fifteenth, by lap five! Passes on Cameron McAdoo, Cole Thompson, and others, then transpired before he would strive for even higher standings. Beginning to zero-in on opponents such as Parker Ross and Carson Mumford, then seemed to motivate the Yamaha athlete to attain a top-ten position.

Ultimately, with his sensational effort, tenth would be occupied on lap thirteen! From there, he would monitor the gap between he and Gage Linville, as the athlete aboard the number seventy-four machine, was a bit of a ways behind him. Knowing what was at stake, Vohland would vault forward amongst the landscape while trying to track-down Josh Varize (who was ninth). Though Varize was too far ahead when the final flag was thrown. Upon accelerating through the sand section for one final occasion, it was Vohland who claimed tenth in the record book!
