race recap
GRIT 311 — 250SX — 2nd — Daxton Bennick
April 25, 2026 · Daxton Bennick

When examining the riding style of Husqvarna's Daxton Bennick, it was evident that a tireless work ethic had laid the foundation for a world-renowned prowess. Through countless years of racing, he had fine-tuned the intricate details of his "SX" arsenal. And that repertoire of skills would be presented as he rivaled competitors including Cole Davies in practice, regarding the totality of lap-times. Despite the aforementioned Yamaha athlete riding extremely well, Bennick's, outlook couldn't be disregarded. For competition in Heat Two, Bennick moved forward from an initial eleventh-place standing while seeing many opportunities to pass (with remarkable vision) amongst the rain and muddy racetrack! Immediately, numerous positions were obtained as he passed that of opponents including Luke Clout, Marshal Weltin, and various others. Bennick wasn't stopping, and actually seemed to become more acclimated to the track (and faster) as time went on! Somehow, he would advance even further in the running order, overtaking standing(s) once held by Jeremy Hand and Henry Miller, before spotting Izaih Clark in the final stages of the contest! Clark was riding exceptionally well, but Bennick's flow couldn't be thwarted. Therefore, with minimal time remaining (while Daxton resided in third, a concluding pass was then made on Clark (in the right-handed bend after the split-lane rhythm
section)...propelling Bennick into the runner-up position, as the checkered flag was eventually thrown! In the main event, Bennick's talent and excellent navigational skills were instantly revealed. This was a time, to remain composed and rather methodical on the motorcycle...and he would do just that while maneuvering his way through the muddy terrain. With mud flinging from his back tire, Bennick solely focused on the path forward - which led to a standing of seventh being collected as the green flag waved for this high-caliber showcase. He immediately vaulted into third, after passing opponents including Jeremy Hand, Coty Schock, and others! He would reside behind Derek Kelley amongst the single-file restart, and immediately, he would leap past the Kawasaki athlete. Once into second, Bennick would do his best to mimic the flow of race leader, Cole Davies. There were times, when they were similar in regard to pace - but it was Cole's initial burst (following the red-flag restart) which ultimately established the gap between he and the Husqvarna athlete.
Following the conclusion of the ten-lap showcase, Bennick's perseverance and phenomenal prowess amongst the muddy conditions, would lead to a second-place score being established in the record book!
