GRIT 311 — 250SX — 1st — Cole Davies
April 25, 2026 · Cole Davies

When the technicality of a specific course would heighten, the abilities of Cole Davies seemed to thrive. The proficiency of the Yamaha athlete was remarkable, and he welcomed the most intricate, and toughest of details which a respective course could present. That theory was intact and presented once more as laps were put forth on Saturday, where Davies would seat-hop, compressing his rear shock with ease, before flying over triple combinations at maximum levels of engine velocity! He was in total control, of this high-powered machine beneath him. And following the practice sessions, he and the rest of the field would prepare for the muddy racecourse, for the night show! As the first lap, of 250S Heat One transpired, Davies was roughly in the seventh-place standing. After a few moments of competition, Cole had moved into sixth...though he would toss his goggles away, while having a significant amount of time remaining on the clock! He would then begin to track down the number eighty-nine of Devin Simonson... though he was going to have to be calculated on attempting to pass the surging Yamaha opponent. Eventually, he would do so - while also making advancements into positions once held by adversaries including Nate Thrasher (who had crashed), and by the end of the contest, with the goggles off, Cole would storm into third where he resided while rolling past the checkered flag! In the main event, Davies would reside in the second-place position, just behind Seth Hammaker - and as the Pennsylvanian flew over the handlebars in the initial rhythm lane, Davies would avoid him while briefly contending for the lead! However, it was Derek Kelley who then would pass him for a short amount of time... though just before the whoop section, after only a few minutes of competiton, would the red-plate holder move his way into the first-place standing. definitively. However, a tip-over before the finish-line (with roughly around nine minutes remaining on the clock), sent him to the ground! Luckily, his lead was large enough, that he remained in the first place standing ahead of Derek Kelley! The race was then re-started, in a single-file manner, due to a red-flag. From there, Davies would begin in the first-place position. It was Daxton Bennick, who quickly worked his way into second..though Davies would have a sufficient gap over the Husqvarna competitor. However, when the pressure was on, Cole would thrive amongst the high-stakes format - and through the laps that followed, he raced his way to the checkered flag to earn the race win! With the victory, Davies was also crowned as the 250SX East Region Champion!
