GRIT 304 — 450SX — 4th — Cooper Webb
February 28, 2026 · Cooper Webb

Cooper Webb's, sense of perseverance and attrition, couldn't be overlooked. Year after year, he continued to climb forward throughout the 450 SX standings. He possessed intangibles. that were difficult for the competition to replicate.
And those traits were once again showcased throughout practice on Saturday. As the track broke down, he continued to portray... a unique sense of aptitude. This allowed him to synchronize unorthodox lines together, which in the end. equated to remarkable overall lap times. That notion was sustained as heat number one took place as well. After launching from the starting line, he would power into the opening sequences to collect a standing of second. He was steadfast in his pursuit of KTM's Eli Tomac, but the Colorado native was incredible on this racetrack. Nevertheless.
Cooper wasn't going to give-up, as he continued to power forward to checkered flag. In the latter stages, he would begin to feel pressure from Ken Roczen. The German athlete would charge with a relentless spirit, but it was ultimately Webb who kept him at bay through the finish line jump...to collect second-place honors. An approximate third-place position off of the start, would be maintained for a few minutes within the contest, before Eli Tomac would surpass him. Cooper was then fourth, with the "pack" of fellow championship contenders, just ahead of him. Webb, though not known to a specialist on this style of track, was riding rather well for a significant portion of the contest. However, as the checkered flag neared, it appeared as if the top-three, were a bit faster in regard to overall pace. Nevertheless, Webb wasn't going to give anything but his best effort - and in the final stages, he would lunge toward the Suzuki of Roczen! With minimal margin(s) separating second through fourth, momentum could shift in anyone's favor, if a mistake were to ensue. Though as the checkered flag waved in the distance, the number one (of Webb) was just a bit too far out of reach, of the duo in slots) ahead (i.e. Roczen and Lawrence). He would accelerated through the final corner, doing his best to track them down...but when crossing the final double, the North Carolina native would claim fourth in the final standings - remaining well within the fight for the overall championship, where he looks to capitalize when the circuits become a bit more compact in the coming weeks of the tour.
