GRIT 304 — 250SX — 2nd — Cole Davies

For practice on Saturday, all athletes within the 250SX division appeared to be competitive. Among them was Cole Davies who was willing to compete alongside opponents of the highest caliber. The track was breaking down rapidly, and his suspension would take quite the thrashing as he leapt from singles into flat-land(s) of sorts, along with various rollers! It was evident that he trusted how the bike was going to act, and in the end, his overall slate of practice times were among the best in the division. This led to an up-shift aboard the starting gate for heat number one, and from there, he was willing to vault forward with a fearless mentality. Executing the earliest stages with remarkable craft, translated to a standing of fourth as the green flag was thrown.

However, a mistake in the sand would enable Caden Dudney to work his way around, in the moments thereafter! Quickly, Davies rebounded - and he wasn't satisfied with his then (fifth place) score. From there, he would work his way to the rear wheel of Schock, and surpass him..which left Davies in fourth. Though with minimal time remaining, he and Caden Dudney seemed destined to rival one another. That notion would come true, in a left-handed bend on the far-side of the raceway. Both would enter into a steep bowl turn together, though as Dudney cut beneath, he would clip Cole's rear wheel! Thus, Davies was solidified in third, and remained here as the checkered flag was thrown! For the finalé, seemingly the entirety of the roster would seek to fly through the inner most pathways of turn number one. While all seemingly clashed, just seconds after leaping from the line, he would secure a standing of ninth. It was going to be key, to remain consistent throughout this contest, though he knew he couldn't waste time. Therefore, an urgent surge ensued, where numerous spectacular leaps, blistering whoop speed, and remarkable velocity amongst the sand, would help him propel forward at an unbelievable pace. He would pass opponents including Cullin Park and Jalek Swoll, which advanced him to seventh. Immediately thereafter, he would move into fifth - after passing Nate Thrasher and Coty Schock. And on the fourth, circuit, Davies would pass Pierce Brown! He then attacked the rear wheel of Drew Adams (nearly landing on the Kawasaki rider through the sand section at one point), though luckily, Davies remained on two wheels. He would constantly defend his territory from Brown, simultaneously...though the pass into third (ahead of Adams) would be made on lap seven, as Cole swooped to the inside (of the corner before the finish line) and ultimately leapt past the Kawasaki athlete over the concluding double! From there, he would try to track-down, Jo Shimoda. The pressure, may have gotten to the Honda rider as the eleventh lap took place.. with Jo falling to the ground in the sand section, which seemingly omitted all "battles" or feud(s), for the runner-up standing! Second-place was then his (i.e. Cole's) once and for all - and as the final flag was thrown, Davies claimed the runner-up accolade!
